Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Trying to stay positive

I'm 7wks pregnant with long awaited dc2. I had some cramping and passed some brownish mucus the two weeks over Christmas and new years so went for a scan weds as soon as we got back from hols. Nurse detected heartbeat and said everything was fine, I was so relieved. But last night I started bleeding bright red and today I'm passing clots :( I'm crossing everything hoping that I'm not starting to miscarry. Just need a bit of hand holding I think please.

You poor thing I really hope it turns out that nothing's wrong Sad
Obviously the bleeding doesn't sound good but you never know. Is your EPU open, would you want another scan, or just to wait a while first?

There will be an out of hours Gynae unit open- the two hospitals in my area take it in turns.

The bleeding has subsided for now. I just checked and the epu was open this morning. I will go in on Monday for another scan. I think at this stage if I am miscarrying there isn't much they can do anyway. Thanks for your messages ops.

So sorry your going through this. I really hope everything turns out ok for you.

I can empathise with how you're feeling. I had my 3rd miscarriage on the 7th of December. AF hadn't yet shown up so I tested yesterday as wanted to know if I could have a glass or 2 of wine this weekend. Much to my surprise it was positive. However today I've had some cramping and one episode of fresh red blood on wiping only. Wondering if this may just be a chemical pregnancy. I know there's nothing that can be done at this point to change the outcome but it is all so rubbish.

emily86 - Flowers you poor thing!! It is all rubbish isn't it, my sympathies. Have you been able to find out any info about any of the mc's?

I'm just waiting to get my appointment for recurrent miscarriage clinic. It has taken months to get my previous 3 bfps so we went for the 'not trying not preventing' approach this month thinking nothing would happen but the this. If it goes belly up I'm going to try and just think of it as an extension of MC number 3.

Emily- did you get a negative pregnancy test after your miscarriage last month? just to rule out it being retained products (I hate this term!)

Sorry to hear about the previous miscarriages

Hi Turquoise, yes I did. Got a negative 3 weeks after the miscarriage. The positive was about a week and half later.

Have had more spotting, similar to what I normally get before AF, and a bit more fresh blood this afternoon so pretty certain this one is over.

emily86 - how are you today?

I went to the clinic this morning and amazingly everything is fine. I had a scan and they detected the heartbea and all measurements are fine. I just had a bit of bruising where the placenta is implanting hence the bleeding.
They very sweetly, but firmly told me not to come back unless I had blood running down my legs and was passing fist sized clots. Nurse actually said that! Thanks all for your support.

Fibre that's great news! I'm so glad you managed everything was alright.

Things not so good for me unfortunately. My bleeding picked up yesterday and today. I'm trying to forget about the test result and just think about it as AF instead.
