Hello, I have PCOS and have had one miscarriage. I also have a son who is 4 and I'm 33 weeks pregnant with a girl. Don't give up hope! Have you looked into or discussed with your doctor about Metformin? This for me was amazing, it helped me lose weight and kept my cycles very regular. In each case it took over two years to conceive my children but we got there in the end. Also the best diet for ladies with PCOS is the Low GI diet, I lost lots of weight on this diet, a traditional low fat diet never worked for me as having PCOS affects how you process sugars. Good luck and feel free to ask me anything x

Yes I was going to advise metformin too. I was lucky and it only took 3 months to get pregnant. Then I continued to take it as it is thought to help prevent miscarriages. All the best.

thank you both for commenting an congratulations on ur baby girl 😊 I have asked my doctor about this tablet an she told me that she cant prescribe it to me it has to be a consultant but the waiting list to see him is from 6 months to a year its a joke really.....I get very down about it all alot but i hide it very well even from people that r close to me like my husband and my best friend my doctor told me she qas gunna get me into to talk to someone about my feellings an worries but as usless as the NHS is ill probably be waiting months for this too

I have recently been taking myo inositol and alpha lipoic acid for PCOS and have noticed a weight loss on my waist (v stubborn area as I'm sure you know, even after I lost loads of weight on WW, it has stuck there)

They were recommended in a book which includes a piece on PCOS and infertility - It Begins with the Egg.

Good luck!

I'm lean PCOS but my Dr put me on metformin because of the increased risk of miscarriage. The standard fertility dose is 500mg twice daily but he put me on the miscarriage dose of 850mg

Sadly I miscarried my second pregnancy but I'm staying on the higher dose of metformin

My embryos were both chromosomally normal but my issues are related to my endometrium, not PCOS - so the metformin is just a precaution.

In the mean time you can also take myo inositol as wilting advises

I take Inofolic sachets daily along with my met. I have to watch out because it can help you lose weight and I'm borderline underweight, but if you struggle with your weight then these may help you!
