Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Bad pain in both shoulders days after a miscarriage?

So on Tuesday I had a miscarriage and ending up blacked out in A&E...

I hd gone into shock due to volume of blood loss/pain loss. However, the following day had 2 x scans which proved the mc was complete.

I've been in considerable pain since coming home, but pretty much what I was expecting.

Today, and increasingly so in last couple of hours I have really bad pain in both shoulders?

What does this mean? Is it normal?

Any replies would be gratefully received...

Pain in a shoulder can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy (not trying to scare you it's just what I got told when I had a suspected ectopic) however you would think if they scanned you that shouldn't be it. I would go back to the hospital personally, worst they can do is check you over again and send you home. So sorry for your loss as well, must be so hard Flowers

Is the pain in the tip of your shoulders where your arm meets the shoulder? That pain can be caused by blood irritating the diaphragm and can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy. Were they very confident that you had a normal uterine pregnancy and that your ovaries and fallopian tubes were normal?

If the pain is worsening I think you should ask to be reviewed.

Yes that is what I was worried about but they were pretty clear that they had ruled out ectopic.... But the pain is really nagging me...

Thank-you

Shoulder tip pain is not just a sign of ectopic, it's other internal bleeding too. If it's pain at the tip then get to A&E straight away OP.

I am sorry for your loss.

The pain is just at the top of my breasts where your bra strap begins just next to my underarms.

Sorry that's the best way I can describe it.

I think if you're in considerable pain you should go to A&E. I had an eptopic but had absolutely no shoulder pain so there are no "rules" but you need to be checked out again.

I'm sorry you had a miscarriageFlowers

Not sure I'd wait until the morning if you're in a lot of pain. Maybe ring 101 for advice?

So sorry for your loss Flowers

Shoulder pain can be internal bleeding. I'd call 111 and ask if you need to go to A&E.

Hope all is ok x

I think you'd be wise to get checked out again, tbh. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. Flowers
