o I had a miscarriage +3 weeks ago.. Medically assisted and bled for two days then that was it. They told me to do a test in 3 weeks.. I did one this morning - positive.

Went to the hospital were there test said negative.. They took my bloods.

I received a call a little while ago saying my bloods shower positive my hcg level was 186 my progesterone 9.6 her words were 'whatever is there won't last'

The doctor said I have no signs of infection or left over pregnancy.. So was she telling me im going to miscarry again? Are these levels not normal? I have to go back in a week to have another blood test, but I'm really confused and not sure what's going on :/

Sitting at home googling hcg and progesterone levels and I don't understand any help would be appreciated.

Test said 1-2 weeks. As I had a miscarriage I havent had a period so I'm not sure how it works x

When miscarried my hcg was at 299.. So they've only dropped 100 in 3 weeks and my progesterone was 18.6

Baffled.

I'm afraid I can't help with the numbers.

Was it a fairly early or late mc? I only ask because my loss at 22 weeks they told me to wait 6 weeks for a negative. I was told after my 14 week loss that a positive after 3 weeks might show retained products but equally it could just be taking my body a while to get back to normal.

Is there a chance you are pregnant again?

Hi Kirsty - I got positive results for around 5 weeks after a mc at 6 weeks. For my 11 week mc is was around 4 weeks.

One way of finding out if it's a new pregnancy is to et your hcg done again on Monday, if it's going up by appropriate amount then it's probably a new pregnancy, if not then it is left over after your mc.

It can often be a horrible waiting game after a mc.

I was about 4 weeks when I miscarried and they removed the sac by forceps. I bled for three days and have had no problems since except last two weeks I have had a brownish mucus.
They retesting my bloods next Saturday so I have to wait a whole week to find out what's going on. My brain is fried.

See if your doc will test again for you on Tuesday - there's no need to wait until Saturday.

Have they scanned you or offered a scan after the miscarriage?

Sorry for your loss and I hope you're managing to rest amidst the confusion x

I had positive tests for about six weeks after missed miscarriage at about nine weeks. Hcg took ages to fall. I had to have blood tests every week til it hit zero!

Yeah I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow.
And no, no scan nothing like that. We've been through hell with them through all this.
Yeah could just be that but she said it's odd how I dropped nearly 100 in a day when miscarried then now only 100 in 3 weeks.
Just gonna have to wait and find out x

Hi,
Can anyone offer any advice? I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago, went to the dr who worked out I was 5 weeks pregnant.
Thursday evening (2 Days ago) I started to bleed and had period type pain. I went back to the dr yesterday who said I was having a miscarriage and to let nature take its course. The dr then said that when bleeding had stopped to leave it a week and do another preg test, going on to say if its neg then fine but if pos to come back to see her.
Is this right? I have no idea what to think, or do? Also this morning while in the bath I think i passed the baby as it looked like a little sac? I'm so gutted I can't belive that you are just left alone to deal with this?!

It doesn't sound like you've had the best of care Gemlous.

I guess you are about 7 wks which would mean a scan wouldn't be much use as a hb may or may not have been present even if the pregnancy was continuing.

At the point you saw the doc, there would have been no way of knowing if it was an actual mc or a threatened one, although the heavier the flow, the more likely that it was a mc. The doctor Should have given you this info. Given that you've now passed what seems to be a sac, it is more than likely that you have sadly mc.

The retest is so that the docs know if you have passed all 'products of conception' (a horrible term to use, I know). When you get a negative test they know that they don't have to give you a D&C. I've had 2 mc and it took 4 wks for the first neg test and 6 wks for the second so be prepared that it may take a while.

Hope this makes sense. It's a horrific time but you will get through it.

Aww I'm so sorry for your loss. They don't explain things well! How have you been doing?

So, after a month since I miscarried I still have high hormones they are dropping but still hanging around,

Had a scan finally last week they can't see any leftovers.. But today iv had cramps and bleeding.. Rung hospital and they said to do a test if it's negative it's a period.. If its positive they don't know.... Positive! Absolutely baffled.

Anyone experienced anything like this?

Hello, I'm 5 weeks and this is my first pregnancy at the age of 40. I can relate to your experiences just when you find out you're pregnant all is going well then you start to spot this brown colour.

Then you start to panic and all things start going through your mind, then the red blood comes and you assume that's it !
I came home from work had no more bleeding so I decided to take the next day off work, then started bleeding about 3pm which was like the start of a period.

I know this could be the implantation stage and last of last months period but this makes you feel sad like it's all over!
The pregnancy line advise you to monitor it and if you get servere cramps then I should go to the hospital as there's nothing they can do at this early stage.

Listening to some of these stories it gives me hope so thank you for that, Kittycatlover that's a wonderful outcome 😇

Anyone out there that could share some advise ?

Thanks

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the advice.
I stopped bleeding on Wednesday but I am really tempted to do a test today, but not sure if this is the right thing to do?
