So sure that I'm carrying a dead fetus

I was 24 when I had an abortion because I wasn't with the right partner. Now I am happily married and we were unlucky last year with a blighted ovum. This year I am meant to be 11 months pregnant today but I have some strong fears.
I have had very severe signs, swollen boobs, swollen stomach, growth tingles, nausea and vomiting, tiredness.... And these are almost all gone.
It's taken about a full week for them to really calm down but even my boobs and extra fat have all shrunken back and I feel too normal. I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks but my next scan is a week away.
I am so convinced that it is a missed miscarriage and that my body is calming down because I have had these symptoms before from the blighted ovum. I am trying to take the motto "what will be will be" but I'm also not really sure how I should be feeling...
If you have any thoughts or advice it would be greatly welcomed,
Rosie

The only thing you can do is book a private scan to be certain. If it helps, I miscarried at 13 weeks but my baby dies at 8 weeks. I was still throwing up until the day before I miscarried and my boobs are still slightly achy at 3 days after passing my baby. Symptoms mean nothing. I had none with my dd and she is a healthy 4 year old! Try not to worry. Fingers crossed for you x

My symptoms disappeared at 10 weeks and I was shitting myself. Booked a private scan and all was well. Symptoms are caused by hormones which fluctuate. I miscarried at 8 weeks this time last year and that pregnancy was symptom-free from the start and I had pain and bleeding. I'm sure all will be fine but do get checked out for peace of mind if it will make you feel better smile

No Tell your midwife she May use doppler first (i dontbthink theyre accurate) if she doesbt find anything bevause baby will be tiny now shell send u for a scan usually same day.

It doesnt mean ur not pregnant because morning sickness or boobs not sore anymore.try to be positive until u get the results whats the point in fretting it will just make you feel worse. Get on that phone asap

A Doppler won't find anything at 11 weeks.

It's totally normal for symptoms to go around 11 weeks - but could you book a private scan for reassurance? They cost anything from £40-£100 depending on location etc.

Try to be positive flowers

Thanks Everyone for your thoughtful messages, it's hard to talk to any of my friends about it because they haven't been pregnant before and so don't seem to know how to relate.
I'll post here again once I've had a scan I you're interested...

as sock said, a Doppler is useless at this stage.

Symptoms often disappear around the 10-14 week mark, that's why people love the second trimester so much - fewer horrible symptoms and soon the first flutterings of movement.

The only way to know for sure is the scan. I hope you have good news, try not to worry too much

Hi Wilson. Sorry you're going through this stressful experience. At around 10 weeks the placenta does start the process of taking over and so your hormones start to settle down a little which could account for your loss of symptoms. If you're not having pain or bleeding that is a positive sign

Good luck flowers

A midwife won't even try and listen in to baby until 16 weeks. I'm 38+1 today and it took my midwife a good few minutes to find the heartbeat, so ignore the advice above.

Good luck with the scan. I'm sure everything will be fine. Please let us know how you get on. flowers

Early pregnancy is so scary - only a scan can let you know what is happening. I really hope all is well. thanks

I had this on 4th pregnancy after 3 mcs. Early on had strong symptoms. Ravenous all the time, needing to pee constantly, huge tits. Around 9 weeks completely disappeared. Felt 100% completely normal. Symptoms returned with a vengence. I just put her to bed.

Thanks Belleende :D this gives me a LOT of hope!

AMAZING!!!
My 12 week scan showed my little baby moving and I listened to his heart beat smile
The doctor said it was totally normal If you have had bad experiences in the past to be more pessimistic the next time around.
I can finally start to believe this might actually happen!
Thanks for your support to everyone tht posted here flowers

I am pleased that everything turned out well for you OP, but could you please ask for the title of your post to be changed as I'm sure some people will find it upsetting.
