What was you cut off age for ttc after miscarriage?

I've dc already and recently, very sadly, had a MMC with number 3.

I was only ever going to have 2 but I don't think I'll get over MC without trying again for number 3.

I'm 36 and people are hinting that I should be grateful for the two dc I have already. I really am but also devastated by MC.

I'm forty and will start thinking of giving up after another year or so.

I'm sure people are just trying to help by saying enjoy your two. It doesn't seem to make it much easier, does it?

Sorry for your loss Flowers

This is a really interesting thread.

I'm only 33, 34 this year. I have 1 live dd so far and lost dd2 to Edwards earlier in the year.

We have started ttc again but as I'm older my fertility is not what it was, plus my risk of another trisomy is higher than normal population now and it goes up with age, substantially after 35.

I'm wondering if I'm pushing my luck in terms of ttc again (I think I had a chemical pregnancy this month too which hasn't helped)

36 is no age, if you feel physically and emotionally strong enough then indeed try again. I'm 35 and pregnant, I lost a baby last year but desperately want a baby.

Good luck x

Originally it was 35, then 36. Now I'm aiming for 37. I don't think I'll ever stop Flowers

I officially gave up at 42 but became pregnant again at 45, almost 46 (get pregnant very very easily but miscarry) by accident.

I didn't even think about having my first baby until I was 37.

What anyone else thinks matters not one bit. I had so many miscarriages, some early, some missed, two late. We stopped telling anyone in the end, we didn't care for their opinion - even my parents were quite judgey.

I had DS at 36, got pregnant very easily but he was born prematurely & we had great doubts about TTC again.

At 38 we tried again but I had a molar pregnancy, then another m/c at 40.

Decided to give it one last shot & was pregnant within 2 months again & had DD at 41.

The risk of Down Syndrome is only 1%, at 40. Perception of risk is greater than the reality.

I was an old bird having DC4.

I already had 3 x DC's. Our youngest DC died which broke my heart. I then had 3 x mc's (one had Patau's). Became pregnant for the 7th time at 42 and had little Val (DC4) a few weeks after my 43rd birthday (hope that makes sense).

People told us to give up too but I am happy (well happier) today and glad that we persevered. It has been a stressful and nervewracking couple of years, but I don't know if and when I would have seriously given up OP tbh. I wish you lots of luck and hope you get the outcome you want Flowers

I had 5 before having DD at 38. 2 after having her, I think at 41 we decided to stop, though age wasn't the primary consideration (though of course it was one).
