HRT / Progesterone dose after Ashermans surgery

Hi. This is my first post on mumsnet. I had a hysteroscopy 3 weeks ago as part of investigation for a late miscarriage.

There was an adhesion which was divided and I have been prescribed premarin 1.25mg for 28 days and norethisterone 5mg three times a day for the last 10 days of those 28. I've just started the norethisterone.

I'm anxious in general and especially so since the miscarriage and am nervous as this seems a high dose of progesterone.

Can anyone that's had surgery for Ashermans syndrome or had a septum in the womb divided share what drugs they were on after their surgery and what happened with their bleeding?

Thank you to anyone that can help.

hi hoping hope you're doing OK. i recently had hysteroscopy surgery, which ended up just being a slight correction of a accurate uterus (that the surgeon didn't think was necessary but my consultant had requested, anyway...). if it had been more pronounced or a septum, i was told i would've had a copper coil for 4-6 weeks. did they suggest that to you? i also had lots of bad scarring from roughly performed ERPCs that the surgeon cut out. so not the same but maybe this info is somewhat helpful?

ended up bleeding quite heavily for seven days and spotting for about three days. these seemed longer than other-people-on-the-internet's experiences. the first five days was heavier than any period i've had since i went on the pill (all my miscarriages have been missed and AF is usually 2-3 days). i was shocked at how much bright red blood there was.

was on CD6 when had the op. my HRT was Estradiol Valerate 4 mg for 8 days, Estradiol Valerate 6 mg and Norgestrel 0.5 mg for 3 days, then Estradiol Valerate 2 mg and Norgestrel 0.5 mg for 7 days. AF arrived six days after taking the tablets (I was told 2 - 5 days but it arrived four weeks post-AF).

hope your recovery is super quick. there's lots of success stories online so there's lots of hope to look forward to...

Thank you so much texta for replying. I am doing ok thank you. I also had bleeding for the first ten days which was heavy with clots for the last two of the ten days. I have since contacted the hospital about the doses and they confirmed they were intentional - just in case any one else is searching for this in the future. My bleeding stopped after the ten days so I'll wait and see what happens next!
