Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Erpc tomorrow

I had a scan today at 11+4. After pinkish discharge and blood steaks.
To find that the baby had stopped developing at around 9 weeks.
I'm booked in for an erpc in the morning. Just gutted.
Any experience of how I will be after? And how long to take off work?

I had one in November, to be honest I was absolutely fine after much better than I expected. I bled less and had less cramping than a normal period although if I remember correctly the bleeding lasted around 2 weeks. I had it on the Tuesday and was back at work on the following Monday but physically I could have been back much sooner. The day after I went out shopping and for lunch.
Good luck xx

How awful for you Sad. In many ways it's good you can have the operation so quickly, but in other ways it doesn't give much time for it to sink in. I do think it is easier to move on (well, begin the long process) once the miscarriage is complete. Lots of support on here as you try to cope with it all, and advice if you decide to try again. Hi Chasmac,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I don't have any advice as I'm in exactly the same situation, I had a scan on tues at 12+1 because of spotting to be told the baby stopped developing at just over 10 weeks. I'm also booked in for an Erpc tomorrow. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. Take care of yourself x

I'm also really sorry for your loss.

I recovered well from my ERPCs but emotionally it did take time. Depending on work, take as much time as you need and accept all the help that may be offered.

It's not a nice thing at all but it wasn't any where near as horrible as I had imagined.

Flowers Really feel for you. I had a mmc 18 months ago at 12 weeks. ( 1st week scan, terrible shock as I had no indication anything was wrong) Had the ERPC on the Wednesday. Felt physically fine within days.

Emotionally I was devastated. It was literally a life altering event. Mainly as I had no support. My family & partner were so dismissive. My partner didn't even come to the the hospital.

Make sure you get support. Look after yourself. Give yourself time to come to terms with what's happened.

Take care.
