Feelings after miscarriage

Hi

Found at my first scan that my baby had been lost at nearly 12 weeks. Then had a medical management. I got to see the little baby with its tiny fingers and toes.

I've had a short time where I've been upset and crying and now I just feel nothing. I wish I would cry - I hate feeling nothing - I feel guilty as I'm just moving on from the baby and forgetting about it - like it was only worth a short period of sadness.

While i was pregnanr I spent weeks lying in bed as much as I could with morning sickness - and although I'm no longer sick I find myself still lying in bed - demotivated now.

I had an early mc and like you, had a short time of crying, then I just wanted to be pregnant again. I felt guilty about moving on so quickly and not feeling like a complete mess. I didn't see the baby, had nothing physical left to remember it by ( hadn't had scan yet) and the only thing I could think of to help was buy a charm to represent it on my bracelet. It helps a bit. My friend (a health visitor) gave me some good advice; let yourself feel whatever you feel, it's the right way for you to cope. Hope you get back to yourself soon.

Hi OP, there's a thread where some of us have found it helpful to share our emotions after miscarriage. I think it's normal to go through a variety of emotions including numbness. Please feel free to join the thread if you think it might help.
