Welcome everyone - pull up a chair! A thread for anyone who has suffered multiple miscarriages and is in need of information, moral support, tea or sympathy. Newbies very welcome.

Can we start the thread with a recap of where we are all up to again, please?

Hello.

I'm from London. Close to 41 and have a 2.4yo DD

Had 3 mc before her (10,6,8w) then St. Mary's tests came normal.
Then DD with normal pregnancy with Gestational Diabetes at the end.

Diagnosed with under active thyroid and now on thyroxine.

2 more MCs in the last year. In October 13 and April 14. April's one hard as first reassurance scan showed a heart beat but dates were a week off...

Anyway... Now going to see Prof Q at Coventry next week to test for NK cells and it will be my last attempt as I want to be able to make plans and sort out my flat without the pile of boxes of baby stuff I am keeping just in case.

Not sure how to do the recap but here goes:

Mintleaf: 32 years; TTC since Nov 2012; 3 MC; Diagnoses: Lupus anticoagulant, subseptate uterus and 'hyperfertility'; Mood: 3/10 (despondent). Additional blow of the week: horrific cold sore. Positives points: lovely DH and supportive close friend (well friends, but one stands out). Oh and on two weeks annual leave starting today (admittedly being used for revision for diploma but still pretty cool). Plan: being referred to St Mary's. Long-term plan: two more mc max then adoption. Feel more positive about adoption than TTC truth be told.

Bakingtins: Nearly 40, DS1 born 2006, MC 2009 at 10 weeks, DS2 born 2010, MC Sept 2012, March 2013, June 2013. All NHS tests normal, went to see Prof Q, diagnosed with high NK cells and treated with steroids, heparin and progesterone. Baby Faith born 23/5/14

Well, my stats are...

Tanny - 42 (just! - I prefer to think of myself as 41and four quarters) 2 DS age 14 and 2. TTC no 3 since Oct 12. Dec 12 MC @ 6 weeks, Apr 13 MMC @ 12 weeks but measured 6 weeks, Oct 13 MC @ 6 weeks, Dec 13 MC @ 6 weeks, Feb 14 MC @ 6 weeks. Five in total. No heartbeat seen in any of them, one blighted ovum.
NHS tests shown nothing to date. Awaiting karyotype results. Saw Prof B on Friday for NK cell testing.

Mood: better than it's been in months, mostly because I'm starting my own business and it's quite a distraction. Getting and staying pg would really get in the way (hint hint)

I think I've got one more try in me, and then only if I'm armed to the gills with the best support I can get.

Without you all I'd have become a gibbering wreck.

I have had 3 mcs in between having 3 dds. I'm wondering if I can't carry boys. They did say they won investigate after;a miscarriage after DD3 but I didn't bother as I'm not having anymore kids

Just to add not TTC but I think as I have realised I won't be having anymore dcs for some reason I have been wanting to know, their df has 5 DSis. His df had a son in his 1st marriage who died after birth. I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything similar

Tanny we are at a similar level. One more try and only after Prof Q / B full treatment!!

Just realised it all blurs a bit. Last mc wasn't April. It was March... I need to make good notes before my appointment.

Eek - just booked on to adoption information evening on Thursday. I know that there is only so far we can go with adoption at the moment, given how recent the last miscarriage was and the fact that we are probably going to start TTC again, but it feels positive to find out more information anyway. Half of me wants to not TTC, wait the six months, and go for adoption instead but ask me again when I ovulate

I don't think I've 'met' you before Bugs but all the best for the scan tomorrow.

Tanny love how you are tempting sod's law. I tried that with my diploma. Its not worked as yet but is proving an excellent distraction.

JBrd: 1 DS (3 years, uncomplicated pregnancy), ttc for no. 2 since summer 2012 - 4 mcs, first 3 all discovered at around 8 weeks (apart from the first, where they saw a heartbeat at 8 weeks, but it still didn't work out), most recent one a mmc at 17 weeks.
Testing so has shown nothing to indicate there is a problem with me or DH (3rd mc was a spontaneous mutation, trisomy 2), currently waiting for the results from the post mortem from the 4th mc.

Thinking about going to see Prof Q for NK cell testing next... Unless the post mortem reveals something specific, which I don't think.
Would consider donor eggs, or adoption, but DH has just revealed that he is not keen on either

Really not sure atm if I can carry on ttc...

Actually I think I must've seen you about lurked on a different thread at some point before Bugs as I have some random notion that you like gin and don't like babydust (although this may be completely wrong). Sorry about your rubbish time of it and that the fear is still lingering.

me - soon to turn 30. no dc. 3 miscarriages. 5.5 weeks may 2013
8.5 weeks sept 2013 saw a heartbeat, needed d+c.
most recent miscarriage at 6.5 weeks after seeing a heartbeat. just had my d+c.
tests - no cause found "just bad luck"???. Seeing Mr Shehata mid july to get NK cells looked into.
wonderful dh (32) and parents who are keeping me positive.
mood - flip between hope and despair.

Forgot to mention that I'm 42! So, time is not on my side either...

Last pg was heavily medicated - progesterone, heparin, aspirin, so really don't know what else they could possibly do. Apart from steroids, hence the potential plan to get the NK cells looked at.

Does anyone actually know if any GP/consultant would prescribe the steroids without a confirmed diagnosis of high NK cells?! Do they do that...?

Hello. I'm 39. 1 ds age 5 all well with that preg. 3 mc since, 7wks, 10wks and this March at 8weeks. Hard to give dates as I get confused between some of the dates of spotting or scans vs the date of it taking place if you know what I mean. Feeling panicky about fertility AND possibility of mc.

Had first appt at RM clinic on Friday with consultant- very kind and lovely lady. Had bit of a wobble and more or less begged to have steroids- which afraid JBrd was a no (though am sure read on prev threads it can get it sometimes). They took tests for sticky bloods as GP didn't do test properly (even though I asked them to check). Still hopeful. On 2 week wait at moa nd feel life is all about TTC. Consultant advised against ov tests as puts you too much pressure and just to have lots sex- but too panicked about missing window for conception and no time / energy for doing it THAT much. No chance!

I am 38 ( for 2 more months), TTC no.1 since dec 2010, had 11 chemical pregnancies/very early losses by week 5.
Had tests done at local rmc a year ago and was put on fragmin, aspirin and cyclogest from BFP - was told that the tests were all ok but ' will definitely have quiet a few issues in a few years time'!!! Anyway a few months ago going through the results with my GP we realized that the RMC didn't do all the tests so was referred to St. Mary's in London and am still waiting for appointment.
I also had my uterine NKCells tested last september and they were raised so their protocol is cyclogest from 7DPO and prednisolone from positive test + bloodthinners after early scan.
Also had hidden infection test in athens which came back positive so am taking antibiotics for that.
Going to Serum in athens for more immune tests in 3 weeks time.
Also my DH has very low sperm count so was recommended ICSI but want to see what the immune tests will show and decide than.

Hello! Thanks for the new thread, Baking, lovely to have you sticking around!
I'm still ttc#1, since Nov 2011. Our first would have been 2 this month. I've had 3 mmc, tow at 6.5 and 1 at 13 (baby stopped growing at about 10 weeks).
Lost of complicated ERPCs, repeat procedures and HRT to recover from them until heart shaped uterus discovered at St Mary's in Oct 2013 and corrected.
I am normal in every single way (except for all the dead babies...), I have had every blood test going from St Mary's, also for coeliac's disease (clear), and have most recently been to see Prof Q in Coventry. I've just completed my third and final round on the progesterone plan and have to test tomorrow (but did a sneaky test this morning and was a BFN).
I'm 38 and losing the will a little bit. Not sure what happens next, and I need to get back in touch with Prof Q later in the week assuming I am out this month.

Bakings thanks for starting the thread.

Ttc#2 since Feb 2013. Mc 1 @5+3, MC 2 @6+3. Never seen a HB. Seen a sac second time around.
Tested positive for high nkc with Mr S and positive on St Mary's TEG test. Prescribed steroids for nkc and heparin for clotting issue.

Only problem is that both consultants don't agree with each other!! Mr S has pooh poohed the TEG test saying it is not empirically validated and he wouldn't recommend heparin.

Not that I have a bfp yet, but I am in a bit of a fix now as to what treatment to follow. I would like to do both ideally.

Ohh a new thread. Am a lurker. Thanks Baking, and thanks for being so kind when I was very low. And many, many congratulations.
We're still ttc but also talking about a different future after 6 MC.
Tests - had 'em all. Been given aspirin then taken off it. Progesterone - but I think that just delayed a couple of the miscarriages. Apparently nothing unusual from any of my tests including the Coventry scraping - apart from great age (41).
Have been depressed this year but starting to feel better.
