Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

How long does it take to get a negative pregnancy test?

I went to epu last Monday, had a scan and pregnancy test. The test was near enough negative. I have been testing since at home with tests that I have over, and they went very faint on Monday night, but have been getting tiny bit darker since.

Do you think it's left over product causing this?

I have to phone epu on Tuesday with my test result, they thought they would be negative, but they want to know either way.

I was 6+4,and empty collapsing sack was seen on scan, I have had lots of blood loss and products with quite a bit of pain.

Why would the tests be getting darker?

Hi divster sorry for your loss Flowers
Don't torture yourself by testing every day. If you are using the v sensitive tests they will pick up traces of hormone that take ages to leave your body sometimes. It has always taken me until the third weekly test to get a negative after MC at 8-10 weeks, they have checked blood HCG after 2 weeks to make sure it's low and dropping but not been too concerned.
If the test is positive tomorrow then tell EPU but I would not be surprised if they just say test again in a week. Is your bleeding settling down now?

I got a positive again, so rang epu, and am back up tomorrow for a scan and bloods. Who I spoke to was the lovely lady that scanned me last week. She was quite surprised, as she said there really wasn't anything there, just a empty collapsing sack. She also said there wasn't going to be anything to come away and it would be like a slightly heavier period. But I have lost 2 large spongy clots with white/grey bands in. Never seen anything like it before.

Only thing I can think of is if the fibriods they found are breaking down?

Still bleeding but no pain now

Sorry about your loss Thanks

I would leave it at least for 2 weeks after your actual miscarriage (i.e. when you passed the tissue) before testing again. With all my mcs, it usually took around 14 days for the hormone levels to return back to 'normal' and test negative, same with the bleeding - but this is obviously different for everyone.

Be kind to yourself, it's not much consolation at this stage, but waiting is your best option at the moment.

Do you think I should cancel then? Give it another week?
