Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Negative HCG test but still bleeding?

Hello
I had a miscarriage just over three weeks ago. It was at 8-9 weeks but hadn't developed past 6weeks. The process has been very different to my first one where there was loads of flooding while products passed, this time its been a more steady bleed with quite a bit of cramping the first weekend.

The sac passed last week but I'm still having to wear pads. Got a negative hpt on Monday (Internet cheapie at 10miu). The bleeding has dropped off a little and I had two days of bright red bloody ewcm (sorry tmi) now back to light and dark brown cm again, apart from when I go to the loo and get more bright red cm.

Do you think this is normal or should I call epac? I have an appointment with the consultant at the end of March for recurrent miscarriage (had two but over 35). I had kind of hoped we could get to work again before then though.

I'm fed up with all the pads and not being able to have a bath etc

Any advice?

I recently mc at 5.5 wks, I was advised the mc could take up to 3 weeks but I may then have period stright after (I don't understand how that can happen tbh) - but basically I was told don't worry if you bleed for 4 weeks.

You can join us on the 'coop' thread in conception for 'older' ladies ttc, if you fancy a chat.

I think I would want to check everything had passed. I wonder if your GP could refer you for a scan to make sure?

Thanks for your replies
I had a scan a week after it started and it showed that the sac had gone, however I knew I hadn't passed it so that was odd. I then thought that maybe it all broke up and I was just passing little pieces. It did pass last week.
Today I passed a tiny piece of grey membrane thing and now I'm bleeding quite heavily. Maybe it will all be finished after this heavy bleeding passes? Will go back to EPAC next week if its not getting better I guess :(

Yes, it's the risk of infection that you want to rule out.

Thanks, hasn't really thought about infection! Will probably get checked out :(

Ok so I may have dysfunctional uterine bleeding now. Have to make appointment to see GP to maybe get put on the pill or something.
What a saga, just want to be back to normal now :(

Hippo have you self diagnosed that? What's going on, are you still bleeding heavily?

I called the EPAC midwives and chatted to them. Still bleeding quite heavily (for me) its ok with the night time pads but the loo at work is up 12 flights of stairs and the lift has been broken for 6 months...it's just getting me down.
