I think its happening again

So I had some bleeding last night (after having sex) and a tiny bit of spotting this morning.

I did a pregnancy test (not even sure why) and it came back negative. Really surprised me as I thought the hormone levels took ages to go down even when you miscarry.

I would have been 12 weeks on Monday.

Anyway, I suppose I am waiting for the inevitable now. I will call the midwife tomorrow morning and see what she says.

Its my DDs birthday tomorrow though and there is a whole host of family coming over for the day. What if it all happens when they are there? None of them know and I don't want them to. What if I get called in for a scan or offered an appointment to discuss the possibility of an ERPC. I can't just leave the party randomly for a few hours with no excuse. I am going to have to tell people aren't I? I really don't want to.

Not looking forward to telling my husband when he gets home this evening either. This will be 2 in a row we have lost, as well as the one before having DD. I am not sure I can go through trying again only to face this again.

Not looking for any replies really, just needed to get it out there before I have to find the words to tell DH.

Could really do with 10 minutes alone, but DD is so excited about being 3 tomorrow, she has been bouncing off the walls and all over me all day.

Hugs. Didn't want your post to go unanswered.

No advice either but listening if you need to talk more.

Oh Join so so sorry to hear that this is happening to you. Im in the aftermath of my first, and simply cannot imagine the sadness you must feel at this happening again.

Are your family visiting the whole day? Is there any way they cpuld be persuaded to visit for the mornig only? Or even the whole day but take your dd out after lunch and cake?

MortifiedAdams Thu 22-Aug-13 18:03:56

they take your dd out - I forgot to add that.

Oh sweetheart. I hope you can find a way to manage this and your DD's birthday.

The guests are kind of staggered all day, some travelling quite a distance, so will be there for the best part of all day or it wont be worth them coming.

I hope it holds off until the weekend, and they do scans over the weekend. I suppose they must do, things like this don't have weekends off, do they.

Only an hour 'til DH should be home.

Oh no sad That must be awful, especially at nearly 12 weeks sad

Join have you heard of the hook effect? Try diluting some of your pee with water, then test again. I don't want to get your hopes up, but that might just be the problem. Spotting after sex during pregnancy is fairly common and mostly nothing to worry about. So don't write it off just yet

Thanks Imnotaslimjim, I had not heard of the hook effect - I would love to think I am so pumped full of pregnancy hormones its off the scale and the test is a false negative. I suppose I shall find out one way or the other when and if they offer me a scan. If things don't happen before then.

I've got my fingers crossed for you. I went through 6 losses before getting my DS, then had a huge bleed with DD but it turned out fine in the end, so you never know

join will keep everything crossed for you.
just wanted to add that the two epu's near me don't open on weekends.
