Ectopic Pregnancy & cycles - what is 'normal'?

Hi. Hoping for some advice as to what is usual, or unusual after an ectopic pregnancy. I had surgery early June to remove both the ovary and tube on one side. Recovery went well and in most respects I feel like I'm back to normal - working, exercising, etc. But I'm now on my 3rd period since early July and just don't understand what is going on.
I understand that the other ovary can pick up production to compensate but 3 periods in 5 weeks seems unusual to me.
Has anyone got similar experiences following an ectopic? Also good news stories about conceiving after a tube & ovary removal would be appreciated! I have one DS who is 3 so it worked first time round! I'm just really confused as to what is happening at the moment.
