Have I miscarried?

Hi all, thanks for all have posted on other threads, it's been really helpful. Apologies if tmi here. I had 12 wk scan on Tues where I found baby had died at 8+6. I opted for erpc but it's not til next Thursday. Last night I had severe pain which came and went like contractions, and was sat on the toilet for 2hrs as bleeding so heavily with lots of large "lumps". Today there is only moderate bleeding. Could that have been it? It seems too straightforward - I was expecting much much worse.

It does sound like it hun, I would be asking for a scan if I were you to make sure everything has gone. I had an ERPC but the day I had it I was bleeding heavily and passing lots of clots but the baby didn't come out so they took me to theatre, so I would definitely get it checked out.

Sorry you're going through this Kakagirl .
I've had four natural miscarriages which have all been slightly different in how they started and progressed, but my first miscarriage started with spotting at about 11 weeks and had progressed to painful cramps and heavy bleeding with clots by the time I was scanned at the EPU.
The scan showed the baby was gone but sac still remained. I was given the options of ERPC or medical management but told because the cervix was quite open and I was losing so much blood I probably would miscarry naturally.
Over the next few days there was some bleeding but not as much, until 2 days later the pains started to intensify again (like contractions) and I went on to pass the sac which was quite solid and surprisingly large, it was pinky brown and different from the clots.
The bleeding petered off after this but miscarriage wasn't complete till a few weeks later.
Hopefully the worst is over for you ,as june says a scan would be a good idea.
Once I started to miscarry I had bloods taken for HCG levels at intervals too to check they were dropping for my first three miscarriages, with the last I was just told to do a HPT 3 weeks later to check it was negative.
