I hope your dates are wrong and it works out for you.

I had a mmc at 12 week scan - no baby at all, just an empty placenta. And I had symptoms the whole through, even worse than I felt when pregnant with my dd

fingers crossed for you

I still had symptoms - less sick but that is hindsight talking as I was still exhausted etc but not as sick from obviously now I can say 7 weeks! But still had nausea and sore boobs - I was meant to be 11 weeks but scan showed stopped growing at 7 weeks -

I hope your dates are wrong and things work out ok -

Hello, thanks for your replies. I've read some of the other threads and I'm really sorry to read what you've all been through.

I chickened out of the scan today. I'm in London so can walk into epu any weekday. I had the 2 DC at home today as half term and couldn't face the upset. Did any of you continue feeling sick after the baby had stopped growing? I have had a missed miscarriage before but it was at 16 weeks, my symptoms vanished around 13 weeks which is when the baby stopped growing, but I paid no attention as second trimester.

This time, I still feel sick and knackered, and got lower groin pains like in early pregnancy. But just can't see how dates can be that far out. no point going over it all, but dp is in the effing pub, so it's just me, EastEnders and the internet. .....

Goosey if you have been offered a scan today my advice would be to take it - otherwise once that opportunity has passed you may wish you had done it then a week feels a really long time -

Hope you are ok

Sorry to hear that too. I'm also going through the same thing. If you check out my other threads sadly you'll see there are many others too sad I should be 11 weeks but looks like baby died at 6 weeks. I'm also having to wait a week for another scan despite 2 scans reading v small foetus for age & then a scan and transvaginal that showed no baby at all sad

Hope you're story will be more positive than mine but if not I've found MN a Godsend with all the lovely messages of support smile

Really sorry to hear that goosey, my heart goes out to you. Just been through the same thing myself - scan at 8 weeks, nothing more there than what you see at 4-5 weeks. There is probably no right or wrong thing to do tomorrow, you can just go with your gut instinct on the day. It's shit and a horrible place to be but it will get better.

I got a repeat scan after 4 days and the sonographer was a bit pissed off as she said it was a bit pointless, as they need a week as a minimum to confirm a viable pg. however, I'm glad (personally) that I had it as the consultant was much more definitive and put me out of my misery so I could get things over and done with. However, I also had bloods and was 100% sure on dates as new exactly when I'd ovulated.

It's so hard not knowing what to think. One minute hopeful, next minute gloomy. Scan said 4 to 5 weeks, should have been 7 weeks. but no bleed, and still have mild symptoms. Did people still have symptoms with mmc? I expect so.

I could have another scan tomorrow, but if bad news fairly sure they will make me wait another week before intervention. I can't decide if its best to stay ignorant and swing between hope and gloom for another week, or know its over and have a depressing week, and may even end naturally by then. Got to face weekend with ill mother in law, so veering towards head in sand approach...

Its bad enough being pregnant in secret, but pretending to the world that nothing is wrong is driving me loopy...
