Did you start ASAP, or wait until first cycle afterwards?

Any success stories?

Still feeling low and really tired, one week after mc. I'm guessing this is normal?

Thank you x

Sorry for your loss. How you feel is normal, and will change with time and as your hormones settle.

We tried as soon as my pg test came back negative. After about a week.,Don't try before then as it can be confusing and cause more upset. My cycles were very wonky but settled after 3 months and was pregnant after 4. My due date was the date of the mc (!) 5th jan. baby was a month prem, and he's sleeping on my chest as I type!

There is a very long running thread in conception with "mosh pit" or "metalling" in the title. Lots of lovely ladies, support and info there. Good luck!

I have a nearly two year old on my lap who was born pretty much exactly a year after my mmc. I had one proper period between pregnancies.

This time round we will be trying again ASAP. Waiting for a period is to make antenatal calculations easier and doesn't appear to have any bearing on success.

Good luck, and be kind to yourself.

I'm sorry you lost your baby, Blackholes of course it's normal to feel physically and emotionally flattened only a week afterwards.
After first MC started ASAP and it took 3 cycles to get pregnant again (successfully) currently on cycle 5 after 2nd MC. I don't think there is any harm in trying straight away if you feel ready, it works well for many people and the only potential problem is in dating the pregnancy when first cycle is often longer than normal. I will warn you that both times my first AF has been very heavy and with 'tissue' even though scans had said MC was complete, so it may take that cycle for your body to be back to normal and ready for another bean. Your mind/emotions is completely another matter, but for a lot of people trying again is helpful. There's a couple of TTC after MC threads on the conception board - I'm on the Laura Ashley one and everyone is really nice. It helps to have some people to chat to who are going through the same thing.

Thank you for your replies. I'll pop over to conception. Still very hormonal and the thought of work is making me feel even worse! Good luck bakingtins flowers and others in same boat.

Hey, I had a mmc- waited for my period, and then was pregnant 2 cycles after that. My DS is now coming up to 3!

Spoke to the nurse today; she confirmed no need to wait for a period if you are paying attention to your dates (eg I know I'm not pg today, so if I were to conceive as soon as I ovulate I'd have a date to work from).

Just waiting for period (due next week) then we'll be trying again, just over a month after erpc. Insanely scared of it happening again though confused

Sorry tmi but after finally stopping bleeding and feeling like "reconnecting" with dp last night, 10 days after mc, I'm now thinking that although part of me still wants to be pg (of course), the other part is terrified! Think we ought to wait. Popped over to conception but those threads are long running and hard to follow.

I had the ERPC on Friday, and am also wondering how long to wait before ttc again... Not that I feel anywhere remotely ready yet! But I was thinking of doing a pg test in a week's time or so to check - is that too soon, will I still get a BFP?

But agree with op - how on earth do you cope with being pg again after a mc?! Will you ever be able to relax at all?!

COme onto the TTC after miscarriage thread on conception board with Laura Ashley in the title. It's v friendly and not too many in-jokes. promise.

I had ERPC on 1st August and I didn't have a proper cycle again until October. Got pg again at the end of November and I'm 10+4 now. TTC after mmc was really tough going, waiting for cycles to return, feeling sad and down about the loss, all of those things.

Although at the time I felt like I really wanted to get pg again right away I am glad looking back that it took a few months because it allowed me to feel the loss and start to recover from it before starting to feel happy and positive again about bringing a new life into the world.

Even though EPU have brought me in for a couple of early scans this time and everything seems fine I have to say being pg post-mc is quite a different experience than being pg before it has happened to you. I do feel a lot more nervous and I have found it difficult to really start thinking of this pg as being a baby or to accept that everything might work out this time and we'll have a new addition in the summer. But with every week that passes, the lovely ladies on MN have reassured me that you can relax and accept things a little more. Good luck to everyone just starting ttc again, really hope it works out for you all.
