well ive just found out today im pregnant. The thing is i suffered an eptopic a few months back followed by 2 miscarriages and i just cant feel excited. Im obssesed with going to the loo to check if there is any sign of bleeding. I have had like a pinky tinge to the paper when weeing but nothing that lasts very long. Im so worried my husband is very optimistic and absolutely over the moon but i just cant get excited

I know exactly where you are coming from. You daren't get excited, it's the only way you can cope if things go wrong, you keep thinking you feel twinges, keep thinking there is going to be blood every time you go to the loo, even though there wasn't five mins ago, why don't I feel sick etc etc

I think it depends how far on your miscarriages were with regards to when you can start to relax a bit. I had six early miscarriages before having dd in March. Once I got past 15 weeks I relaxed a bit. Even more after my twenty week scan, but never totally until she was in my arms.

How you feel is totally normal, after what you have been through, just sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Congratulations. Pregnancy after suffering losses is tough. I found it very hard to feel anything but pessimistic the whole way through with DS2 after a MC, and felt pretty pessimistic about recent pregnancy which did end in MC again. I think it made it easier to accept the loss. You are just cushioing the blow by not thinking too far ahead. It's crap that pregnancy can never be a lovely happy time for you, but you deal with it however it seems easiest to you. Hope you get a smooth ride this time and a lovely healthy baby at the end of it.

Agree with other posters; it's almost impossible to feel positive/excited/hopeful after miscarriages.

I'm currently 12+6 after a molar pregnancy & mmc at 11.5 weeks.

Thankfully I was able to have 2 reassurance scans on the NHS at 8 & 10 weeks. I would happily have paid privately for these, although I was metalling again within 24 hours!

I had my 12 week scan today & went to the loo afterwards. Out of habit, I wiped & looked for blood on the loo roll. Then I realised that I'd seen my baby kicking around in the screen just minutes before - duh!! It's really become a habit Blush

hi, I totally get where you're coming from. Sounds 100% normal to me. Glad you are getting an early scan at the EPAU, I was a bit alarmed before I saw that post! Much better to be looked after, hope they are on the ball.

I had a MMC then an ectopic 3 months apart. I'm lucky to be pg again but there is No. Joy. At. All. with this pg. I feel bad for the little bean, I do love him or her but I just have no faith at all that my body will look after this little one. I had the 12 wk scan and thought right now time to relax. And then promptly got pneumonia.

Do you have any other DC?

I have 2 other children and my pregnancy with them was fine i sailed through. However after 10 long year i split with my husband and have recently re-married the most wonderful man, so this is a different father to my 2 others although he loves them like his own. I do feel slightly different this time the eptopic and the miscarriages, im sick and very tired and certain foods and smells make me sick, ! good thing is i am a smoker but the sheer taste and smell makes me sick so ive gone cold turkey and given up. 'm just taking it a day at a time, early scan on the 19th and the way i see it, if i go and there is a pregnancy where it should be and growing then that's another hurdle we have crossed. I am taking it 1 day at a time but just yet i cant relax and enjoy the pregnancy

hope it all goes well on the 19th, taking it 1 day at a time sounds sensible. Congrats on giving up smoking Smile

You can never get back that naive happiness in pg once you've had losses, I'm still not sure how you get through (and I'm 14 wks now!) but I've found keeping busy at work and getting lots of sleep helps.

Though look after yourself as I've found being very stressed with this pg has lowered my immune system. With my happy 1st pg, I didn't get so much as a cold, with this stressful pg I've had pneumonia, because I didn't go to the GP when I was a bit under the weather, I suddenly went downhill very quickly. Anyway, take care of yourself!

I am resting as much as i can whilst doing all the normal chores that comes with motherhood, i have a much less stressful job than i did when i had the mc and eptopic so thats helping....

You can get referred for testing after three consecutive miscarriages to see if there is any reason for them. Maybe you need to give yourself a bit of a break from trying to conceive three mc in twelve months is a lot to deal with.
