Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Can I please ask, when did your AF return after a miscarriage?

Am just wanting to take a bit of a straw poll and ask what kind of mc treatment you had, how far along you were when you sadly lost your pregnancy, and how long it took for your period to return?

I'm 4.5weeks post mmc dealt with naturally (discovered at 9 weeks, baby didn't go past about 6 weeks) and waiting for my AF to return and just wondering when it is likely to be. (should add I had cramps and tiny bit of spotting 4 weeks after mc)

Thanking you all in advance

Hello, with my first one (natural at 7 weeks) I ovulated 2 weeks after mc and actually fell pg again (miraculous as it had taken nearly a year to get pg before). Then mc'd that one, had mmc at 11 weeks. Had Erpc and ov 2 weeks later, period 2 weeks after that.
With my current (flipping ongoing mc) I have retained tissue and I am 4 weeks on from Erpc and miles off ov or period! Hcg still around 500 but coming down. Would love to get my period so I can close this chapter!
Bring on periods! Hope you get yours soon.

hello daisy, it was a miscarriage without medical intervention at home, almost 14 weeks (I think it was a mmc, was about to go for first scan) AF came about 35 days after the day of the mc but placenta came out four days later like an enormous pear! Hadn't been expecting that as had never been pregnant before. So, it would be 31 days after that.

It was light and uneventful although the blood had the smell of birth (like sweet bacon, parsnips?) and that brought back the memory of the mc a little Sad Had bloods taken at hospital shortly after and took a good number of weeks to get a BFN. The followng AF was 33 days, the next was back to regular 28/29 days.

Currently using ovulation sticks to see which days it happens on and will be doing the digital temp charts etc. Don't know how I feel about going through it all again.
I'm sorry for your loss and any one else who is going through all this.

Blighted ovum at 8 weeks. ERPC at 8 weeks plus 4. Took about 4 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test and now finally my period has arrived 9 weeks post op. I have never been so excited to buy tampons!

Soo sorry for everyone's loss. I had a mmc at roughly around 10/11 weeks where baby only measured 7+6 , had an erpc. Had very little bleeding only pinkish to wipe for first 5 days. Then bleeding of brownish/dark reddish started and by day 8 it got really going like a period. Still have bleeding and it's 2 weeks since erpc. Did a pg test yest and still got the faintest line so hormones not just quite back to normal. Has anyone else had this? Just want to get back to normal.

Sorry to hear about your mc Daisy and to all of you who have lost. I had a mmc discovered at 12 week scan but the baby had died around 8 weeks. Opted for ERPC and period arrived 4 weeks later - I have never been so pleased to get it, felt like my body was returning to normal and we could try again. My cycles were a bit all over the place for 2 or 3 months after that but soon settled down.

Be kind to yourself.

5 weeks today since and hiding my head in the sand and ignoring possible symptoms (that I may or may not be imagining!) and trying to avoid having to test as I am scared

I'm sorry to read these sad stories of loss...

OP, I had a MMC last year - a second scan showed the baby had died at 13 weeks - and it took 9 looooong weeks for my AF to come back and I didn't ovulate for my first cycle.

It drove me bananas... I lost count of the tests I did in that time and how much my emotions yo-yo-ed up and down. I so desperately wanted my AF to settle down so we could start trying again. It seemed the only thing that would fill the hole inside me.

It took a while, but settle down things did and I am now pg again - 22 weeks - and hopeful this time we will get a happy ending. Take care of yourself - I found it a very difficult time. I hope your AF returns and you have some happier times soon.

Both Mcs were natural and at 7 weeks. Period returned exactly 28 days later both times which surprised me massively. Both times I got pg straight after that too! I hope you get your bfp soon.

oh yes, as a veteran ttc'er pre af symptoms are very similar to pregnancy symptoms, that's why symptom spotting is so frustrating! Something to do with progesterone drop (or is it one of the other hormones) just before AF. Makes me feel nauseous, have tender boobs, the lot.
