Hii guyss, i'm in need of some advice. I had a miscarriage on the 25th Jan. I've had a scan and tests since, i was all clear and negative tests! i was in disbelief and still am, and have taken tests ever since :/ ( crazy ino ) they've all been negative. except this morning, i had a very clear positive was only a cheepy tests as-well, i was so shocked an took another half hour later, with hardly any pee but still again got a clear positive ( although lighter ) no squinting, just clearly there. then later this afternoon got a negative :/ hmm! they also found a simple cyst at my scan, so does anyone think this could be the reason for my tests? do they change your hormones|? my miscarriage was only 2weeks 3days ago! although i usually ovulate early in my cycle the earliest i could have ovulated would be 10days ago. any ideas ladies? would be so gratful for any replys x :)

Gosh that's an odd one. Were the test a different type from what you normally use - is there ANY chance you misread?

I'm guessing the answer to that is no, so I suppose the possibilities are 1- leftover hormones, 2- new pregnancy try again tomorrow, 3- new chemical pregnancy.

The last two just sound so unlikely in the timeframe - maybe trip to the gp to see what they suggest.

Different pregnancy tests will detect hcg at different levels. Could this be a possible explanation? It seems unlikely that you would be pregnant 2 1/2 weeks after a mc.

Ino its very odd, and confusing for me. I really dont think it could be left over hormone as ive had dozens off tests since and all been negative. deffinatly didnt read wrong or evap line, was a pink dye aswell. only came up in the morning though. afternoon test was neg! I took a 10miu test so pretty sentative! does seem unlikely i would pick up a new pregnancy att this stage, although not impossible, as i probably ovulated about 7days after my miscarriage, this is usualy how it is for me! i am seeing my GP tomorrow anyway, so will keep u posted :) x x

If you're 10 days post-ovulation then it is possible I suppose that a very sensitive test could be picking up a new pregnancy. But have you been using the same brand of very sensitive tests all along? If you've been using tests that detect, say, 20miu for the last week and have just switched to the more sensitive ones then it could still be left-over hormone?

But if the miscarriage was early and you know that you ovulate early in the cycle it's possible I think.

I had a very early miscarriage (4w5d) a month ago, and I ovulated, apparently normally, on day 15 (counting first day of miscarriage bleeding as day 1). Have you done another test this morning? What did the GP say?

The GP has done blood tests today and i will hear back friday, also arranged another scan for me for next week! GP thinks its possible i had twins.. I told him id already had a scan 3weeks ago, so surely it would have been picked up? but he said not necessarily. So we will see, I suspect its either a new pregnancy, Or left over hormone though. My test was 10miu it said on it used the same sensitivity tests. Then i ran out and ordered more, theyve came back negative, i think there a different sensitivity though. :/ hmm. Will Soon no :) x

Well my blood tests came back negative. Was in A&E wednesday night though was on my hands and knees in pain :( (poor me) lol! i do have an infection in my uterus following the miscarriage and a water infection. Still don't no why i had that positive test, im guessing the hormone must have still been around! thanks for all the advice :) x x

Oh I'm really sorry zonat.

I've had one of these where the uncertainty drags on and it's hard to deal with, especially with a bad outcome in the end. I really hope the pain stopped and the infection clears quickly.

Look after yourself for now - lots of treats and being kind to yourself. It's horrible.
