Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

TTC after 3mcs....what to do?

I had my first mc in 2009, then couldn't face trying again until this year, when I had my 2nd in June, and my 3rd in September (got pg immediately, hadn't even had a cycle so no idea how many weeks I was) The first two were devastating emotionally, the third one was more of a physical trauma (I had thought it was my AF, pain increased until the point I had to go to A & E who confirmed pg and subsequent mc)
I have waited now for the recommended few months, and the old urge to try again hasn't lessened at all. My dh is on board, but says we should only have one more go, and if we lose this one that will be it.
I am so scared to try, and equally scared not to - this may be my very last chance to have another child (I have two, for which I am truly, deeply grateful - I just can't help this wishing and hoping for another one)
Time is against me too - I am 40, and can't help but feel that I should just let it go.
If anyone has any advice or stories to share I would love to hear from you..

Since you have had three miscarriages you should be eligible for some recurrent miscarriage testing. Maybe if you get the all clear from that you may feel more confident about trying again? I got an issue diagnosed by the tests and have been given treatment and am now 20 weeks pregnant.

Sorry for your losses and I wish you all the best for ttc.

I would second getting all the tests you can.

Fwiw I had 2 dc then went on to have 4rmc before finally having dc3 earlier this year. It can and does happen.

I hope things work out for you next time.

Thanks both of you for your replies. After the last one I was offered testing, but at the time couldn't face anything. I am ready to go back now and see what happens, so will see my gp and take it from there.
