Just after a little advice please. I started spotting brown blood on saturday at 5+6 weeks, on sunday i had a big gush of red blood then nothing until monday afternoon when i had a big gush of blood with a couple of small clots. This was after cramping and contraction like pains. Since then ive had nothing. The doctor referred me to the epau but i cancelled the appointment as i just couldn't face it.
I am still experiencing morning sickness and tender breasts.
Know i should just go to the epau to get checked out and put my mind at ease but i would just like to hear other's experiences please. Is that sort of blood loss normal for a six week loss and how long will it take for my symptoms to go. I was positive it was a miscarriage but now i am doubting myself. Thanks

ragdoll, I have just had exactly the same as you but mine was a bit earlier on. First red bleed was at exactly five weeks, second at 5+5 which was last night. I went to A+E in my maternity hospital and got a scan. The baby is still there, has no heartbeat yet but they did say it was probably too early for a heartbeat.

It is perfectly possible that you are still pg and really you should go to your EPAU.

Hi ragdoll sorry for what you're going through, bleeding in gushes is frightening I know. I think it's so hard to tell that the only way would be to go to EPAU. You're very early on but from what you say have only lost small clots despite the heavy bleeding. There are many stories here on mn of ladies having bleeding yet still a successful pregnancy. Lots of luck.

Thanks for the kind words and advice, i've just made an appointment at the epau for tomorrow morning so at least i will know one way or another.
Chipmonkey hope everything goes well in the rest of your pregnancy, i had a bleed last time in my pregnancy with dd and she is sat here now trying to type with me. It just seems so different this time but fingers crossed.
will let you know how i get on. thanks again rag x

Very reassuring to hear about your dd!Smile
It is worrying when things are different from before but I had brown spotting for the whole of my first trimester with ds3 and he has turned out fine too! I think dh thought I was over-reacting last night but I don't think he gets the difference between red and brown blood.

Let us know how it goes tomorrow, ragdoll. Take care XX

well ive just got back from the hospital and there is a little baby with a heartbeat!! Can't believe it, im in shock, i honestly thought i'd lost the baby.
They said that there's quite a large area where the blood loss is coming from but it's away from the baby and the sac. Obviously it's still early days but im so relieved.
Thanks for the reasurrance and hope all goes well with the rest of your pregnancy chipmonkey. We should be due around a similar time so i'll look out for you!! xx

Mine is 3rd November. Mind you, I have already had 4 CS's and my obs usually brings me in the Wednesday after I turn 39 weeks to do my CS. If he decided earlier I may end up with an October baby, too!
