Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Could I be having a miscarriage??

I've namechanged as my mother and MIL are both on here.

I had thought that I might be pregnant by a few weeks, DH and I weren't exactly trying, but weren't exactly not trying either. Putting it this way - it would have been a very happy accident.

I had an extremely light period three weeks ago... 1 day of hardly anything, and my breasts were swollen and I felt some slight period pains until yesterday (so for three weeks) which I remember from my first.

I didn't take a test because I don't smoke / haven't been drinking etc... And the first time round I found out straight away and the wait until the scan was torture so I was tentatively keeping an eye on it with an eye to testing when my period is due in 5 days time.

This morning I was shopping and had such a sharp pain in my... I want to almost say pelvic bone and bumcheek :s it was so bad I had to lean on the counter in the shop I was in and wait there for about ten minutes.

I came home and have felt awful all day... So incredibly tired, periody pains and just freezing cold... Even though DH assures me it's boiling in here and DD feels warm to the touch.

I went to the bathroom an hour ago and I'm really bleeding. I know I'm not due for 5 days but can it just come early?

Is it just silly to think this? If it had happened would I be sure?

What should I do??

Just posted this on you thread on AIBU...

How heavy is the blood loss? Are you soaking a pad an hour? Is it heavier than your usual period? Have you taken your temperature? Have you got pain anywhere else?

It may be an early period. It might be a MC. I'm not an expert - so its possible it could be something else.

As I say, I'm no expert, but I think that if it were me I'd be getting advise - either through my out of hours GP, the NHS Direct Symptom Checker or by calling NHS Direct (0845 4647).

You sound worried and you've got things happening that aren't normal for you. There's nothing to loose by getting advice.

Fingers crossed for you.

Just to add...

No, you wouldn't know for sure unless you'd had a +ve pregnancy test.

The bleeding in and of itself doesn't mean you are having a MC - but heavy bleeding at an unusual time + ?fever + sharp pains = (to me) something worth seeking professional advice over.

It's def not soaked a pad but it's been about an hour of quite heavy do maybe 2 hours? and it's unusual for my periods to be heavy.

I just don't feel 'well'. I'm freezing, but DH thinks my head feels hot. The walk back home from town was so hard, I was so out of breath and in pain... And usually I do that walk effortlessly every day.

I'll have to get a test in the morning.

I don't know whether you are having a mc but you certainly sound ill, if I was you I'd see a doctor, just to be on the safe side x
