Bruise following ERPC and IBS worse?

Hello :)

I had an ERPC on Friday following a second MMC at 12 weeks. I don't feel too bad, the bleeding is now very light, but the most painful thing is that I have a bruise of a 10p peice on my low abdomen. I wonder if I got bruised from the inside out? I rang the ward who said they have no idea, I am not really concerned but have now convinced myself that I have a perforated uterus BlushI am sure I would not be typing this if I had!!

Also I suffer from irritible bowel and this has been giving me hell since yesterday afternoon. Has anyone any experience that will stop me turning into a neutotic paranoid loon? xx

hi there, firstly sorry for your loss.
Im 5 weeks on from a natural miscarriage and three weeks on i was feeling bruised inside and some uncomfortable pains in my tummy. I do suffer from ibs but not for some years and these pains felt different and was worried about it being an infection.
Went to see my gp he assured me the pains were all normal and ibs realted, as my bowel would of been pushed up during the pregnancy, so it was adjusting back to its normal positioning and maybe a little irratated??? Im not doctor, but makes sense to me.
5 weeks i feel ok, pains have subsided and with some adjustments to my diet and green tea my bowel feels less irrated and defo in less pain.
Hope thats helps a little. Sorry for typeo,s and again sorry for your loss. X

Sorry for your loss batteryhen. Did you have the ERPC under general anasthetic? Also did they give you some painkillers?

I can't shed much light on the bruising I'm afraid but I also suffer from IBS. Sometimes the GA can irritate, as can the emotion or stress of the situation. The reason I ask about painkillers is that after one of my ERPCs I was given Diclofenac as a painkiller, even though I told them I had IBS which causes a great deal of abdominal and colonic aggravation and I was in agony and blown up like a balloon all weekend.

Thank you both for your replies. They didn't give me any painkillers, and I did have it under GA. I feel a bit bettter today - thank god for hot water bottles! :)

Hi battery Im so sorry for your loss, again :( I had seen on the MC a while ago thread you had MC again.... and i wanted to give you a big hug :(

I havent had an EPRC so i cant comment on the bruising, but re the IBS i may be able to help. I MC at 12 weeks in august.. blighted ovum. Found out at scan and then everything happened naturally. MY IBS flared up massively during tail end of pg and during MC and what i have subsequently identified in myself (but everyone is different) that i get quite bad bouts with hormone fluctuations

for example - with the falling progesterone around MC i was dizzy fainting and had violent bouts of diarrohea (sorry if TMI Blush) and i have now noticed post MC that i am also getting that around ovulation, and waiting to see if i get it around AF...

I basically dosed up on double the amount of probiotics, stayed off things that have irritated me, drank peppermint tea as its more soothing, and it seems to have corrected itself somewhat.

Yes the PG and MC definately affected my IBS (had done a detox before conception so it was under control beforehand) and it flared up afterwards as well!!

I hope you are ok, and you are muddling through xxxx

I felt like my innards had done a few rounds in the boxing ring. Can't speak for the IBS - but my eczema went absolutely crazy with the stress of it all, to the point I was almost in tears with the itching - you've been through an emotionally hellish time, is it any wonder that anything stress-related/triggered to flare up goes nuts (I gather IBS can react the same way with stress)?!

Hi,

nicks thank you for looking out for me - I was 12+4 weeks this time - had a small bleed and was scanned to find baby had died. Absolute crap time, so my IBS kicking in is what I really don't need!I may start to lurk around the other thread as we want to start TTC again soon. xx

empty IBS and eczema are quite the same - both can be stress realted. Normally when I get an attack it lasts a few hours not days like this one :( However, I do feel better today - still can hear my stomach rumbling away -and don't like to stray too far from the house. Poor you with your eczema - I get psoriasis which can reduce me to an itchy mess but thankfully it seems to be under control just now xx

Hey battery, hope you are doing as ok as you can be! I know you were on the ttc thread before me, you are still on the list :) there's quite a lot of newbies on there now but they have been brilliant, it's just totally crap we all have to be :(

I'm so so sorry you find yourself in this situation again, I hope you start to feel stronger soon and Ibs doesn't flare up again too much xxxxx
