hi, i suffered a natural mc three weeks ago, after it was discovered at 13 weeks after a small bleed that i had mmc,d at 8 weeks.
Im still having quite a few pains, even though i had my all clear scan on thursday last week.
I still feel very raw inside which i was expecting after the mc but i also keep getting a deep stabbing pain on the left hand side of my tummy.
Has anyone else experienced this
I have no other symptoms so am trying not to worry as im still waiting for my first period since the mc, as i believe it maybe related???

I had pains for about 10 days, deep inside, towards the back though - not on my tummy. It was explained that it could be the uterus still shrinking down.
But 3 weeks sounds like a long time - I would maybe phone the GP? Or the EPU that looked after you - did they give you a number to phone?
HOpe you are back to normal soon.

yes they did give me the number, just thought it was too soon to worry.
The pain is quite deep down, feels like im ovulating kind of?? But more intense.
If the pains are still the same i will call them mid week, as im 3 weeks thursday. Thanks for reply

Hi rachk32

I'm really sorry for your loss. I would go and get checked out asap if I were you. The reason being is that having pain like this is a sign of having an infection

other signs are:

fever
chills
smelly discharge

but even if you have only ONE symptom you should go and get checked out. They will probably give you antibiotics just to be safe, and this is very important because if you have an untreated infection it can endanger your future fertility and on rare occasions can be fatal.

Considering the risks, its worth a quick trip to A & E or calling the all night doctor.

If I havent been convincing enough, please phone the NHS helpline and see what they say.

please dont leave it till mid week.

take care xxxx

I agree with MummyAbroad you need to get this checked out asap just to be safe.

I had labour pains for about 4 weeks after a natural miscarriage, it's perfectly normal. Once it stops you'll probably have a period quite soon after. Big hug.

Hi Rach,

Really sorry about your loss, I feel your pain having experienced something similar in June.

I had the same thing, sharp ovulation pains, after my mmc (at 11 weeks, d at 9). It carried on in the 2nd half of my cycle for 3 months. I had it checked out at the EPU but there was no diagnosis of anything, although I did have a small cyst.

If it carries on can you get back in touch with your EPU?

Hope you start to feel better soon.
