Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Will I need an ERPC?

I've posted quite a bit recently about this but basically I started bleeding 2 wks ago, when about 6 wks pg.

I bled for 10 days, about the same amount as a period but no large clots (the biggest were about the size of a 5p) and no pain/cramps.

The bleeding has now stopped. I've got a scan on Tuesday to find out what's going on.

I'm pretty sure the baby must be dead after bleeding for so long, but I'm not convinced I've passed it.

Will they recommend an ERPC after bleeding so for long, or could I have passed it without realising?

TIA Smile

Hi Jojay. I lost my first one at 5.5 weeks -I bled only very lightly with no pains / cramps for about 3 days and didn't need an ERPC. Bleeding in early pregnancy is so common though (although this doesn't make it any less worrying obviously) - perhaps the scan will show that all is well with your bean? Not intending to give you false hope or anything - hope that doesn't sound flippant. Confused

First of all so sorry for this- leaving aside lemontwists point that may be ok, It depends how pregnant you were. I had one early mc where didn't need an erpc and it was like a bad but long period (I was about 6 weeks pregnant when lost it).

In terms of how long they leave it it depends on hospital and also if there are any signs of infection. But assuming you are ok and hospital ok then it could be a month( I have waited twice and then needed erpc and in both cases It was about a month or so til I gas erpc although It was my choice to have erpc the second time as hospital probably would have let me wait another week or so).

Well I had the scan today and sadly I have miscarried. I'd passed everything though, so no need for further treatment.

Thanks for your support Smile
