Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

14 weeks pregnant - tummy ache- what to do?

I am 14 weeks pregnant.Scan at twelve weeks all fine.

Have had persistant tummy ache for last couple of hours. No bleeding. Bowels been very lose (sorry TMI) so not sure if it is a bug.

Have had early miscarriages - several - but had hoped getting to here is a good thing.

How bad would the pains be if this was a 14 week miscarriage? I am on holiday in back of beyond in Cornwall at moment. If it does get worse or bleeding starts should I go to hospital as I didn't with early miscarrages.

Sorry - just don't know what to do.

Sorry you are not feeling well, hopefully it is just a tummy bug.

The pains would probably be quite severe if you miscarried, I would go to hospital if things get bad.

As you are not bleeding there is every chance everything will be ok.

thinking of you

Thanks. They are quite bad but not doubled up. Just having lost babies before so over sensitive and I lost lots of blood with one at nine weeks so I am anxious about what to do.

I think they would be more like contractions if it was m/c. Sounds more like an upset tummy...its all the same area! Hope you feel better soon!

If you think you have a bug, try drinking (on an empty stomach) a strong lemon juice solution. Then have nothing else for 30 mins. Repeat first thing in the morning. The germs won't last long.

if in any pain at all just go to your out of hours or hospital esp with ur history.

I agree with other posters that its probably a tummy bug, but if you have had other mc's before, you could definately do with some reassurance. I would make a big fuss at the doctors and see if you can get scanned as soon as possible, or at least have a midwife listen for a heartbeat with a doppler. That will really put your mind at rest.

Get well soon, xxxx

Thanks all for your comments. They have treated for a uti. Tummy pain gone but have got strange 'heavy' feeling down below - like something 'falling out'. No bleeding. Have not had scan yet but now back from holiday and seeing midwife tomorrow so should at least be able to check for heartbeat.

Could this strange feeling be part of the uti? Have checked (tmi I know) and nothing seems to have changed!

I know I am just jittery because of so many miscarriages and being a bit older (42) but it has been 8 years since my youngest daughter and I have forgotton what normal is!

Thanks
