Hello. I change my patch every Tuersday and l realised on thursday night that my patch was not there, l put a new one right away. My question is that if it has been missing for a day or two without me realising, do l still change my patch next tuesday or next thursday now that l replaced the missing patch on thursday. Thank you,

I have no experience with patches but logic tells me that replacing in Thursday would be the way to go. I hope an expert comes along to help you soon.

It doesn't matter either way!

New patch Thurs-Tues = 5 days use. You're just taking it off before it 'expires/runs out).

If you want to leave it on for 7 days and swop the change day to Thursday you can do that as well.

Either way, your body is getting no more or less than usual.

Also waiting for someone to come and tell you from a medical point of view.

The only consideration would be - is the 'patch dose' consistent each day over the 7 days ?

It really doesn't matter. Stick to the usual regime and replace the next one on the correct day. These small variations in your estrogen levels are really not important over a whole month.

Thank you. Also somebody said drinking any amount of alcohol is really bad for health when using Hrt. I m not a big drinker at all however enjoy one glass of wine two or three times a week. I don t understand what s the difference between a not menopausal women and women on hrt regarding alcohol.

Sageda A lot of the stuff you are worrying over doesn't apply to you as you are very young and having a premature menopause.

You've got a bit mixed up with the alcohol thing!

Women who drink 2 or more glasses of wine per day increase their risk of breast cancer by about 6 more cases per 1000 compared to women not using HRT.

There is no 'rule' about not drinking when using hrt.

It makes sense when using HRT to have a healthy lifestyle- so being within the 18-25 BMI weight, not smoking and not drinking too much.

You aren't really post menopausal anyway- you are a young woman having premature menopause and supplementing your own hormones to a level they ought to be at 37.

Obviously it helps to not drink too much for your overall health but you don't need to stop drinking at your age.

Thank you dear. I ve always been a naturalist and live off grid in nature so iy was a big thing for me at the beginning to get artificial hormones. Took a while to accept. I m 37 now but actually it happened when l was 32. But at 34 l got a spontaneous pregnancy while not having had periods for 2 years. After the birth of my daughter, l breastfed her for 3 years and when l weaned her all the symptoms came back and intensely. So l m already in menopause since last 5 years. I decided to go for Hrt as l didn t want to be a depressed mother having anger trips constantly as well as being healthy in the longrun so that l can be with her. So 5 years without estrogen, l hope it didn t cause any damage already though during pregnancy there re different hormones in play.
