Been battling with menopause symptoms for 3 years. I've managed to manage it okish with lifestyle changes except for my sleep. I've tried absolutely everything without success. Main issue is not falling or even staying asleep but that I can't get into deep restful sleep. I wake up so tensed up, it's like I experience the most dreadful nightmare every night exept I do not.

Tried hrt last year and not only it didn't help my sleep at all, the progesterone brought pms symptoms I never had before and affected my heart rate/blood pressure so stopped after 3 months.

GP has now suggested tryingTibolone. I've looked into it but have found few threads/posts about it and what is there seems very mixed. I understand it's not hormones replacement but alternative but doesn't seem to interact thst differently to hrt.

Anyone here on it, or whose tried it or who has an opinion on it?

I was on Tibolone for 3 months, it was weak for me and it is used more for post penopausal ladies. It did not suit me cause I needed stronger estrogen and a cyclical type of hrt. My gyn suggested to try it again after 5 years. Tibolone is considered safer regarding breast cancer risk I think.

Hi swingofthings

I was wondering how you've been getting on with the Tibolone?

I saw a consultant at a menopause clinic last week and she's suggested I try it... although it's currently out of stock everywhere local to me.

She said that I should be taking some kind of HRT to protect my bones as my periods stopped when I was 43, but also that most of my symptoms don't really sound like menopause. She thought that Tibolone might help with exhaustion and low libido at least...

I have been taking tibilone for about 3 years now with no issues. However I do have a separate prescription for Phenergan for sleep issues. However I went through a very early menopause, so very much post-menopausal, not sure if that makes a difference. Worth trying in my opinion.

A little blob of testogel alongside hrt has massively improved my libido and exhaustion @blackink

Thank you both... FuckyNel I'm already ridiculously hairy, would adding extra testosterone be likely to make that worse?

Grin not unless you use loads

Pea sized blob so a sachet lasts 9-10 days

There are others testosterone supplements which have varying dosages.

It’s been so worth it for me! Muscle mass improved, stamina, orgasm response etc
