Hi, I'm 39. In August I was told I was entering early menopause following a 29 day heavy bleed. I have had ultrasounds, biopsys and all ok. Since June my cycles are:

June-47 days
July-41 days
Sept-29 days
Oct-31 days
Nov-13 days
Nov-16 days...2 periods in Nov
Dec-7 days into yet another period ☹. 17 days from last one in Nov.

So in the space of 7 months I have gone from very long cycles to very short, lasting 2 wks give or take a few days.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Looking back I would say my periods have been quite erratic for about 2 yrs but never as it is now, its as though my body is having a clear out for want of better words. Just wondering if the end is neigh??? Which tbh I can not wait for.

TIA

Have you been on the menopause matters forum? That might provide some answers. Also have you been to the doctors for some HRT?

Sorry not really any help.

Hi thanks for the reply.
I think I need to go back to the doctors and discuss. She was more interested in sending me for biopsy etc at the last app. I will have a look at that forum thanks.

My cycles are very similar. I'm in my early thirties though and a bit worried as wanted more kids, GP sent me away with no advice other than "it's just hormonal ups and downs".

I am also 39 and been to see gynacologist today. I have a mirena coil which was to help with heavy debilitating periods.
Anyway last few months I have been getting severe PMT and terrible joint pain, hip pain and sciatica every few weeks.
I thought maybe my problems were because of the coil.
Anyway on the basis of no blood tests she has given me progesterone tablets and said oh it's normal changes in hormones at your age.
I take that to mean I am perimenopausal.
Feel awful, really down. I was hoping to feel better but now it's just going to be years of feeling like shit.
My mum was a witch to us all when she had her menopause.
I feel like my life is over. Sad
