Menopause at 39...

I’ve just been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid AND premature menopause... not sure why I’m posting, maybe just need a hand hold? Feeling so old and left on the shelf.

Do I take HRT or not? What should o expect? I already have horrendous memory problems, trouble sleeping and constantly exhausted even after a good sleep. I’ve also been utterly vile to some people due to lack of patience.

Will this get better?

Thank you for the advice and link! Also is it normal to get emotional and cry over absolutely nothing?! Feel so silly

Yes, it's very normal to feel tearful and depressed. The lack of estrogen causes a lot of problems physically, mentally and psychologically. You need help and definitely hrt. I diagnosed 6 months ago and I m 42. Don't panic and try to get informed. Take care!
