What is the difference between perimenopause and the menopause? How do you avoid weight gain? Does the menopause magnet work? And ye gods, tell us how to get a good night's sleep! Luckily Gransnet has put together the most useful tips for navigating those muddy menopausal waters. Mumsnet has not checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. If you have any medical concerns do consult your GP.

Nearly there....or am I?

Having had 5 years of 4 - 6 monthly periods I am crossing fingers that this time I make it. In one months time I'll have been period free for 12 months. So far, relatively scathe free - flooding, which was nasty but turned out to not be insurmountable due to the large time between each.

So, tell me, will this be it? Or is it just the start? Am I supposed to see my GP to let him know?

Any advice!

You will just have to wait and see. No need to tell your GP.
