First time user of Fem7 esterol patch it's supposed to stay on for 7days. Was super careful putting it on my hip, had two showers and a run and the flipping thing has just peeled off in 24hrs! Now what do I do? Put a new one on or keep it attach with tape? Where do I put it so it stays put!!

I frequently have this problem, the shortest one lasted was about 2 hours! Now, I dry my skin with a hairdryer and stick it to my stomach (alternating sides weekly). If I am going to have a soak in the bath or do something where I might sweat more than normal I use medical tape to hold it in place. Very frustrating.

I put my HRT patch on my bum cheek after showering and before applying any cream/body lotion. I change it twice a week and it has never come off yet! Have to scrub the sticky mark off with baby oil though.

Thanks - I've had a google and seems to be an issue with some patches. I've put another on on my thigh using a alcohol wipe first to clean the skin hopefully it will stay put. I do run and swim couple times every week and the GP said "oh it will be fine with that" but I'm thinking it prob won't stay put for 7days!!

Second flipping patch has now come unstuck after 12hrs?! I was super careful cleaning, drying, warming patch sitting still after I'd applied it? I've put a bit of surgical tape over the tape temp but it won't stay put if I go swim tom grrrr!

On my 3rd patch in 48hrs now as the second slide right off despite tape over the top after a run. Hohum I'm guessing these may not be for me!

Same here, have had the ones that you change twice a week and leave adhesive marks but they didn't work as well.Am back on fem7 but have run through 3 months worth in 6 weeks. No adhesive marks and no rhyme or reason about them dropping off.
Am going to as GP about gel.

It's crap isn't it?! The third patch has stayed put SO far but I've not done any exercise so it's not been "tested" yet. I have put it on my bum this one...

I had to swap from Fem7 to Evorel because they were falling off or letting in a little water, which would irritate my skin to the extent, I had welts across my backside. Nice.
Sadly I am back to feeling terrible so I need to go back and try to find a new way of getting my hormones.
Incidentally the pharmacist I spoke to said femseven is renowned for being terrible at sticking and has written to complain about it!

i wonder if anyone knows which gel would be similar to femseven?

i found it a nightmare getting the patches to stick and when they did stuck it was really itchy. I have finally found it seems to work much better if I stick the patch at the front just below bikini line.

I used to have the same problem with nicotine patches. I used medical dressings over the patch to keep it in place. These ones are super sticky (I use them at work) and come in different sizes

I tried the patches recently as I thought they may be easier than the gel. I found them unbearable! They didn't stick on properly, and then when stuck on I could feel it all the time and it pulled my skin when I moved/sat down/got up. Horrible things!

I went straight back to the Estrogel.

The gel's fine, really - I squirt it on my thighs and use my forearms to rub it in, so it's spread over arms and legs. Only takes a couple of minutes to soak in and doesn't leave a residue. Even easier if you do half in the morning and half at bedtime.

Mine's oestrogen only, though - don't know whether they do one with progesterone if you need that?

I think you have to take a pill form of progesterone. I am going to ask for the gel and the pill as i am really struggling on this new patch, it is not working at all.
And as for those marks left by the patches, i have scars on my bum!!!!
Good luck all of you x

Thanks I've already got mirena for progesterone- yes several days later I'm still struggling with the red welt Sad the flipping patch was only on 48hrs dread to think what was in the "glue" to make me react like this! Got to wait another week to see my GP.

I dont understand why they do that. The evorel patch causes no problems at all.
Shame it doesn't work.......

Can you get the doc to do a phone consult?
