Hot flushes.

I've been having hot flushes off and on for a few months but in the last few weeks they seemed to have got alot worse. Around two an hour, so hot and sweaty all through the day and night which means I'm waking up feeling tired all day.
So I googled for help, when I saw that they can last up to 7 years! I burst into tears.
Can anyone help? Is there a herbal/natural remedy I could try or should I consider hrt? Thanks.

Black cohosh is supposed to be good. Are you sure it's hormonal thpugh? I thought I was peri menopausal but actually had vitamin deficiencies from bad ibs, personally I think I have gallstones and a small intestinal problem which causes the ibs anyhow. Hope you get it sorted asap?

Mine were bad for two years then eased off during the day. Still get hot at night though 7 years later.

It's worth reading through several threads on the board - there are lots of discussions and suggestion if you do a bit of a search Smile

I have found sage tea helps, and also Promensil supplements.

Others swear by HRT. Polly knows a lot about it.

I make the sage tea by stewing sage leaves in boiling water. We grow it in our garden. You can also buy tablets.

Sometimes herbal things work for a while and stop for some people, but a cheap and easy thing to try?
