Menopause

Menopause and the big bloat

Hi I am new on here and I am looking for some help with menopausal bloating. I start the morning with a put belly but end up looking pregnant by tea time. No matter what I eat, or drink it has the same effect of giving me a pregnant belly. It is very uncomfortable and all my clothes feel tight and I have to wear loose clothing. My hot flushes have calmed down and I haven't had a period for 6 months, but the bloating is the worst I have ever felt. I have been trying to find out which is the best herbal supplement to take but got confused. Any advise you can give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks

If you have persistent bloating you ought to see your GP tbh. Bloating is not a sign of meno but it can be a sign of things more serious like ovarian cysts. (I'm ancient and post meno and never had bloating.)
It's normal to weigh more at the end of the day compared to the morning- everyone does, even men! - but what's more likely is your have put a bit of weight on or it's distributed itself differently (around the middle !) so that may be the cause. The other possibility is you are still peri meno and the bloating is fluid retention caused by incomplete cycles and low progesterone but then you'd usually have PMS too.
