no af for 11 months then small bit of bleeding today

i keep being told this is common when gong through meno'. anyone else have/had this? i haven't had an af since jan, didn't think that that would be it so not surprised i had a show today although only a bit, nothing since although feel a bit bloated, so may come on? have a well women check for yearly smear next week so will mention, just scary when you have all these weird changes as so unfamiliar

My friend who is now post menopausal went 50 weeks without a period, caught her out on holiday!
I think it is probably normal but do mention it when you go for your smear test.
