What natural remedies have any of you tried with success?

Have been on hrt (pills, then patches with Mirena) for three years now (since I was 42) but am considering coming off the patches and trying more natural ways. I've scouted through Holland and Barrett website, but wondered if anyone had any recommendations of what works, particularly for flushes, night sweats, pmt (even though there's not really a period on mirena) and just general grump-old-woman syndrome.

This is not what you want to hear but if you had a prem menopause then at 45 you should still be taking HRT - up to 50-ish- to help protect yourself from osteoporosis and heart disease in later life. Nothing OTC can do that really. Maybe the Mirena doesn't suit you and you might be better off with a different HRT regime?

Thanks for the input BoPeep - hadn't thought of that side of the issue tbh. I tried umpteen variations of hrt tablets, went to the meno clinic in Solihull and it was they who suggested Mirena plus oestrogen patches. I just fancied losing the bloated look which seems to come with the patches (when I forgot to put a new one on, it definitely made a difference to my shape). But weighed against osteoporosis and heart disease, there's no contest is there!

Most of the women have to face lots of menopause symptoms like insomnia, hair thinning, weight gain, etc. and to get relief from these symptoms some of them go for the HRT. But estrovera is an alternative for HRT (hormone replacement therapy). Have a look on the estrovera to solve all the issues. Because my mother and most of the women tried this natural supplement for relief from menopausal problems.

Menopause is the naturally occurring stage when the level of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone fall and the body stops producing eggs. It means a woman loses her fertility due to which these changes don’t allow her to get pregnant. We can say that one is suffering from menopause when there has been absence of any menstruation for 1 complete year. One has to face this natural stage due to some hormonal changes during the age of 45 – 55. One has to face several problems like irregular periods, hot flashes, insomnia, hair thinning, weight gain and more due to menopause. It’s not easy to deal with menopausal symptoms. If someone really wants to overcome all these menopausal issues, go for the healthy diet such as fresh fruits, green vegetables, etc.
