Menopause

Suddenly cycles much shorter, more painful, and very bloated - go to GP or not?

Hi

I am 44 and my cycles have been generally 26/7 days for the last 4 years (except when pregnant). I have all the usual ovulation signs, and they are even more obvious in terms of ov and period pain over the last few cycles.

I have been very bloated,, but with the last three cycles being 15 days, 27 days and 22 days. I appear to have ovulated with each of these cycles, they are just weirdly short in the two months.

This month it appears that I am ovulating on day 8 which means that this month could well be only 21 days again.

My question is, should I just assume this is normal peri-menopause, or should I go to GP for the irratic shorter cycles?

go and have a chat with your g.p just to settle your mind if nothing else, there may be medication that could help else your discomfort.
