The first month it happened I thought "oh, how strange and what a pain in the arse", but as I've now had 3 out of the last 4 periods very close together I think something must be going on. But the fucking menopause? At 35?
I'm 35 and this happened to me last year, was at some stage of period more than half of the month. I went on the pill for 3 months and it sorted everything right out. Still a bit too close together for comfort (23 days now rather than my old trusty 28), but at least they're reliable again.
No, periods seem totally normal. I don't think it's mid-cycle bleeding as I feel that typical increase in well-being when they start, so I must have had PMT in the days leading up to it. I have the tell-tale period pains and they last the usual 5 days.
I'm 37 and my periods are getting closer together too. They've been every 28 days for about 20 years but in the last 9 months, they've been much closer. 22 days, 21 days, 24 days......and very painful and heavier with clots. I soaked through my pj's and dressing gown because I stood up too fast and had a gush . I'm also very pale and tired for about 3 days once my period has started. I've also changed in other ways over this 9 months, my skin is much dryer, I used to be oily. I don't have that middle of the month horny feeling when you're ovulating, it makes me wonder whether I'm slowing down and not ovulating every month. Am I starting on the change? I started my periods aged 10 years, if that plays a part
Know it's been a long time since this thread was last active but I'm wondering if anyone had any answers. LibraryInfo, your story is very similar to what's happening to me now. Same age, drying skin, periods getting closer (though mine have gone from 31 to 28), the flooding, the drop in drive and I think I was 12 when I started my periods. How have things been for you?? x
