Lost coil and symtoms

Hi Ladies

Can anyone help me as im at wits end, I had a Mirena coil fitted around 4 weeks ago as my periods were so bad , bleeding big clots so i decieded after a long time to go and have it fitted, Well two weeks later i had the most horrendedous bleed, felt as if my womb was falling out and rang the doctor and she checked and said she could not longer see the threads for the coil so ordered a scan which i am still waiting for (that was two weeks ago!) since then i have not stopped bleeding , its quite heavy and looks like mini clots, sorry to be so discriptive!!. I visited the doc again on friday and she checked again and still no sign of the coil , she has asked me to have a full blood count done and also refered me to Gyni at Hospital. I am so worried about the bleeding as keep reading terrible stories on the internet about perforation etc and im so low , pain lower down and so snappy all the time. I having hot flushes and feel cold at times to. I know im 48 so have not ruled out possiblily of Menopause, just need re assuring from other ladies whom maybe gong through the same symtoms etc
