Hello ladies, i dont usually post here ( in fact i didnt know this bit existed ) but id just like to say that i was going through a really bad time with mega hot flushes, night sweats, terrible bloating and mood swings.
I read in one of the womans magazines about the ladycare magnet and went straight on to their site and ordered one not really thinking it would do much good but since it was only about 20 quid i thought id give it a try.
My hot flushes which were coming about 10 - 15 times a day for about 5 mins a time stopped almost straight away ( just the odd one but not full blown ) i never had another night sweat Grin and my bloating reduced gradually over a couple of weeks, my mood lifted as well, i wore it for about 9 months and all was well then i went and lost it on holiday and forgot about it when i came home.
A few days later my flushes started again so i hot footed it down to Boots to buy another one and again the flushes stopped Grin
I now have been wearing it for around a year and a half and have no flushes, sweats or bloating.
I dont know how it works ( and i dont care as long as it does )and im not saying it would work on everyone but for me it has been a miracle life saver {grin}

Can you take the magnet with you on a plane? I've contacted the airline and the aiport and got conflicting advice - 2 lots from the same source! Has anyone encountered difficulties?

Dawndonna · 29/12/2011 21:54

I'm sorry, it did absolutely nothing for me.

ameliagrey · 30/12/2011 15:58

This was recently discussed on the Food Hospital- Channel 4- when they featured a menopausal woman with hot flushes- you can watch it again.
it was poo-pooed by the drs there.

vogonmothership · 30/12/2011 16:04

We had one in our office full of women about 12 years ago (from a PR company). It was billed as end to period pains. Most of us tried it and then we used it as a fridge magnet. Was all it was fit for.

vogonmothership · 30/12/2011 16:07

but glad it works for you Grin

ameliagrey · 30/12/2011 18:00

you don't work for the company, do you? Smile

sailorsgal · 02/01/2012 21:27

Well it has been helpful for me. Forgot to wear it last week and was sweating like a pig at night. Blush

It did set off the airport security passing through at Gatwick. The security lady asked me where I got if from as wanted to recommend it to her friend. Grin

Funny it didn't do it on the way home.

GrannyS · 17/04/2012 15:02

I wore one for a while and it didn't really do much for me except when i was stood packing my bags in Morrisons and i attached myself to the metal on the side of the conveyor belt. Grin

Bluepetticoat · 17/04/2012 18:31

I really really hope that you do NOT work for the makers of the magnet.

There is a long thread already here about this.

If someone comes along saying they never really use MN but then promote a product, it raises suspicion.

Bluepetticoat · 17/04/2012 18:32

Sorry Granny- I thought this was a new thread about it. As you were.

GrannyS · 17/04/2012 22:39

That's ok Blue, i was just having a nosey through the topics and spotted this one. I'll have a look for the other one. Smile

cuphalffull1 · 11/06/2012 22:38

I bought one of these magnets over a year ago.. wore it constantly for over 3 months, absolutely nothing happened.. Hot flushes and night sweats still rampant.. So I begrudgingly admitted defeat, my man had laughed when I bought it, but I was adamant it would work.. :) It does have a lot of positive reviews, so I'm sure some ladies may benefit.. Just seemed a complete farce in my case though..

lindyloo0905 · 10/08/2012 23:30

I used the Ladycare menopause magnet for 2 years and it was an absolute miracle. :) Had spent six months sweating like a pig, going out in a t.shirt with snow/ice on the ground as i was ALWAYS boiling! I have never believed in magnets for any health problem but was so uncomfortable with this excessive heat all the time that i thought for £20 it was worth a try. Honestly it worked straight away. It did set the body scanner off at Gatwick airport so took it off before going through it on my return journey lol ! I did read that after a couple of years you may need to replace it. Mine stopped working after just over 2 years and the sweats were back, day and night. I have had a terrible three months again, sweating and forever having to wipe my face as i would have perspiration dripping down my face! :( So bought another magnet yesterday and hey presto!!!! its working already. Havnt had one hot flush or sweating for 2 days. Honest, i dont know how it works, but it definately does for me. If you are suffering different menopause symptoms then go on, give it a go. And NO i do not work for the company who makes them! Its just totally brilliant :)

This link takes you to scientific research on the topic of magnets and other alternative treatments.

I don't know why some women say it works for them. This report shows that acupuncture and homeopathy "worked" in subjective trials, but not in placebo-controlled ones. I don't know if this is the same for magnets. But believing something can and will work is very powerful.

Hi,
I only found this site this morning as I was looking for info about menopause magnet. I started using it three weeks ago and it seems to have helped with some symptoms and I'm sleeping better. I've just started a period today after 49n days and usually have a really bad ehadache andfeel sick for about three days before there coming on but apart from cramps which I have only just started to suffer from I've been fine.

needapal · 22/08/2012 10:17

I woke this morning to find that the nausea that I usually get with my period was only delayed and have actually been physically sick twice. My night sweats are definitely not as bad but the flushes which I am getting today are worse than normal. I still haven't had my usual brain crushing headache though. I'll try the magnet for a few weeks more maybe it takes a while to kick in properly.

petula52 · 23/02/2014 09:49

Hi, I have just been reading some of the messages about Lady Magnet.

Must say a there was an air of bully boy tactics. Shame on you.

I have been struggling so much with flushes and evil night sweats, it was really getting me down. Tried HRT, didn't suit , Wellsprings prog cream, didn't work for me.

A week ago I looked at the Lady Magnet , and sent for one. I also sent for Sage tablets . I have started using the magnet 4 days in now
I am in a state of shock. I have not had a night sweat or indeed a proper hot flush since I attached it . This is not my imagination, it has really done something . Taking the sage as well . attacking from all angles . Please give it a try , if like me you have been beside yourselves. I keep pinching myself . ;O)

mylittlecuppycake · 23/02/2014 10:06

oooo and I changed my user name in your honour

Unexpected · 23/02/2014 10:37

Yes, always a good idea to take the numbers off the end of your user name, unlike all the other posters in the past who have popped on once to promote this product and never been seen again.

Is there any need to be so plain rude to my mother?
Menopause is something she has been really struggling with and she came on here to offer help and support to others. If she is 'promoting a product' it is only because it genuinely has been working for her over the last couple of days.
I recommended she join a forum like this as I did at Baby Centre during my pregnancy, but seems the atmosphere here is a little different to over there.

mylittlecuppycake · 23/02/2014 11:16

Here Here Charlie , I just wanted to tell others as it has been so dramatic. It may stop today, who knows but today I am feeling very Chippa.
But is appears that Little miss' Unexpected ' thinks I work for the company..... ha .....
vivid imagination .

Go peel ur spuds and get a life .

My mum bought me one of these magnets a couple of years ago. for some reason i was embarrassed by it and it sat in it's packaging for some time. I did eventually use it and my hot flushes reduced enormously and my mood swings lessened. My puppy chewed it up a month or so ago and all of the symptons returned, worse. i didn't appreciate how much the magnet was helping.
