I'm a new member, and I'm from Belgium. My english is probably a bit poor... but I understand english very well. I like reading books written in english. My favourite author is Dona Leon.
My family is rather large : 5 children from 19 to 8 years old.
Because I like very much your rich culture, I would be very happy to comunicate with english women.

hi belgian!

Belgian Sat 18-Jun-05 10:44:36

Salut Pupuce!
A bientôt Pupuce!!!

Belgian Sat 18-Jun-05 10:57:20

It seems to be nice and friendly

Lonelymum Sat 18-Jun-05 11:01:19

Welcome to Mumsnet! My 9 yo ds has been trying to read and understand your French - not sure how he is managing that as he has not learnt the language yet!

Perhaps we could start a whole new area on Mumsnet in which people with another first language teach our children some of it!

Guardianangel Sat 18-Jun-05 11:40:07

Bonjour Belgian, Dont get too addicted

Guardianangel Sat 18-Jun-05 11:41:52

I hope you will understand our sarcastic humour I was wondering what you understand to be our rich culture, cos I dont know! tee hee!

Belgian Sat 18-Jun-05 11:51:36

I'm afraid it's already too late not to get addicted... I've got a lot of fun surfing on Mumsnet!

Hey Lonelymum! What did your 9 yo understand in what I wrote? It would be funny if it was correct! About the new area you were proposing : I think 9 yo could teach me english (mine is very poor and "schoolish")

Belgian Sat 18-Jun-05 11:56:30

Belgian people have a lot of humour, and self-humour! It's necessary when you live in such a small country divided in 3 parts : 1 speaking dutch, 1 speaking german and the third part trying to speak proper french ( more over near France ) Belgium is the courtry of "surréalisme". We need it to survive!

Lonelymum Sat 18-Jun-05 12:28:15

he knew some of the words that are enarly spelt like ours plus he thought en fait was in fact - I couoldn't tell it he was right or not!

Mhamai Sat 18-Jun-05 12:38:35
