but LOL at you taking a photo did htey see you?

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:29:09

In case you can't see properly it is a sort of pale blue colour.

rosebea Sun 04-Jun-06 17:29:32

yuck, what on earth is that? I take it that's a real tree that's been suffocated and dismembered? That's very very wrong and slightly bizzare!

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:29:48

I don't give a toss if they did see me, they just spent all weekend cutting the branches off their tree and painting it blue.

Yes it's a real tree.

PLease notice the way they have attached a bird table and not one but two bird feeders, because they are real nature lovers.

Is it some kind of treatment? Our trees in the back garden get cut right back like that in the autumn evry couple of years. They grow back by the spring/summer

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:31:19

Fio, whoops there goes the neighbourhood

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:32:36

I'd love to think so, mears, but after they painted the tree, they painted their garage with the same paint.

nature lovers? maybe not tree lovers!

perhaps its art?

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:35:18

One less tree now fio...

Yes we are lucky, it is a 70s housing estate but there are some very nice established gardens. And then there's this.

Southeastastra, there is a local artist who does paint trees like this. However he has them certified as dead first. I just watched these people cut all the branches off a living tree.

I now know where you live, he he.

Freckle Sun 04-Jun-06 17:39:23

I'd just enjoy watching nature reclaim its own when the branches start budding again and totally destroying their "work of art".

What sort of tree was it? Any chance of slapping a TPO on it???

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:39:25

Do you, ff? Are you round here?

southeastastra Sun 04-Jun-06 17:40:41

go out when its dark and put a pair of trainers on it or an old tyre.

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:41:48

I'll tell you what is bothering me the most, those vile red bird feeders sticking out from it. They are much more garish than they look in the picture. I can't believe that someone would spend all this time painting the ruddy tree this pale greeny-blue colour and then stick two bright red bird feeders on it

fairyfly Sun 04-Jun-06 17:42:17

I don't really, i was just trying to scare you.

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:42:51

LOL oh lord just wait till Christmas. They are big on Christmas lights round here. I bet it will have some flashing icicles draped all over it, and probably a flying Santa too

FrannyandZooey Sun 04-Jun-06 17:43:49

I thought maybe you knew the tree artist ff, he is an interesting person. I don't think he would appreciate this copycat tree art though.
