Depending on where it is (and whether I could get there) I'd be up for it.

I'm in Sutton Coldfield with a 4 year old.

Im in Solihull. Just joined. Let me know where youre meeting. Anyting worth a try with three fighting kids!!

wino2 - if you ever manage to escape from them you could try the Solihull evening meetup too.

Depends when and where.... I'm working full time, so anything midweek would depend upon being able to get time off, and that in turn depends upon other people not being on holiday so that they could cover for me. I'm in the Leamington/Warwick area by the way.

So where shall we meet and when? I would rather not travel too far if i can help it as i am currently 34/40 preggers. And dh would have a fit if i went too far away from Good Hope especially as i will have the car!!!!!!!

Report

Aku - are you still in Kenilworth - or am I thinking of someone else?

Report
ronniebaby · 27/07/2005 21:08

HHugs, you are south birmingham, MHill is north.

Carlk - anyone is welcome as long as they have kids.

AKU - you are welcome also, with your DD's.

I have DS's, a 5 year old and a 7 month old, as stated I live in Tamworth, but have wheels so can get anywhere. (Knat if you are coming I can pick you up). I may also invite my childminder & her son, so there will be maybe more.

SUGGESTION

Is it easier for most people to get to Sutton Park, as we could take a picnic (Bikes/scooters - for kids obviously), take a football &/or baseball, have a little walk around the park etc.

The other alternative is Canon Hill Park, which is in Birmingham (Central), but last time I went there it wasnt that nice???

Lets get some dates etc on the table. So here are mine.

DATES

Tuesdays or Thursdays are best for me. I can do 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 25th (after 12.30pm), 30th

Anyone got any suggestions or dates they can/cant do???

Hope all is well with everyone xx

I've not been to Sutton park , but have a car I could also find room for up to 2 adults and 1 child seat (or combination) if anyone needs a lift
I am in SW Brum (B32).
I often go to Canon Hill as the MAC is a good place for a chat/coffee if the weather is iffy, we used to meet up with our NCT group friends there.
Any day is fine with me.

Sutton Park sounds great Ronnie - Town Gate would probably be best as they have a good playarea, dog free footie area (alegedley) there is wyndley pool in easy walking distance to feed the ducks and if it is open there is the donkey sancturay not far off as well. Can manage any of the dates you listed.

The best play area in Sutton Park is at Banner's Gate, nice modern equipment, soft surface, blah blah blah. The one at Town Gate is a bit neglected these days.

Mummyhill ... what donkey sanctuary is that, then?

Report
mummyhill · 28/07/2005 09:42

Agree play area at banners gate is great and closer to home for me but there is no where for the kids to play footy. Nor are there enough benches/space for a picnic.

Just up from town gate there is a turn off to the right and it leads to a small donkey sanctuary which is occassionally open to the public, they give riding lessons to handicapped children durring term time. Found out about it when i did a work placement for my social care qualification at a longmore school, as far as i am aware it is still there.
