Outdoor sandwich lunch in the City - Wed, 22nd June

I didn't want to tread on Kayleigh's toes as she is such a fab organiser, but I am going on maternity leave at the end of June and I wanted to catch up with the City gals before I go.

How about Wednesday, 22nd June, at 12.30 in Finsbury Circus? On the grass, with sandwiches and rest of lunch etc........

Assuming it is dry......

I would suggest the grassy end nearest Moorgate - I might even bring a rug.......

Any takers?

I'm on for this! DS2 might even be crawling by then, so he'll really love it.

Oooo, ouch, get off my toes.

Would love to come if I am in office. Have put it in diary and will let you know nearer time. Ds1 is off on a field trip for three days and two WHOLE nights on that wednesday and I will be waving him off on weds morning through a haze of tears. As I'll have to come in late anyway I may work from home.

It's lovely to have someone else orgainse for a change - very liberating

I'm on for this and so might be half the average contents of the 43/141 from London Bridge judging from a recent discussion elsewhere.
Thanks for organising beachy...and glad to see you are about Kayleigh. Was about to mail you to check you were OK!

I'll come. I am now wondering how many people from my office will be there - the MN-at-work secret will be out .

Feel a bit daft wandering around asking people if they are MNers. How will we know each other?

Shy kbear!

I'm hoping JJ will come ... I'll hassle her again.

KBear, we will do the "what are you wearing" thing on the day and we will look out for you. You will look over at a bunch of women chattering away, if they all turn round, look at you and start to smile. It's us !

Alternatively if you are really nervous about this am sure one of us old hands would meet you first at a more obvious spot. I would volunteer but am not sure i'll be in office that day. Leave it till a bit nearer the time and we'll sort it out

Me too, please! I've put it in my diary.

Thanks Kayleigh - I'm not a nervous wreck about it (yet) but can envisage myself plonking myself down next to the office girls day out and saying hi MNers and they will look at me like I am the village loon!!!

KBear, I'll happily meet you ahead of time, if you like. Alternatively, I'm easy to spot even in a crowd, as I have quite short hair (probably very short by then, if the heat wave keeps up) and I'll have an 8-month-old baby with me. The office girls don't tend to bring those with them.

Hi ladies,

...is there any room for a new City mum?

I have never been to a MN meet-up but thought I should pluck up the courage and get out there and meet other City mums. Unfortunately, ds will be at home with grandparents but, work permitting, I hope an unaccompanied mum can join you!

Hi Janie7 - This is all new to me too. See you there!

Ohhh, BH! I'd love to come and see you off and wish you all the best for things at my hospital, but my parents are down for the week to spend some quality time with Ben. Such a shame. Will you still be online at home? Would like to try and keep up with your story and maybe come to a meet with your new DB?

Beachyhead - I'm so sorry but I'm not going to be able to make this! I've just started a new client based project which is keeping me exceptionally busy in Tower Hill and an extended lunch hour at the moment is a big no-no !

So sorry I will be missing you and your bump though...and everyone else of course!

Instead, I will look forward to seeing you and your new baby in a few months time.
