There have been a few meet ups attempted in South Wales, but mostly over Cardiff way, and I am a misery guts who doesn't want to get the last train, so would anyone be up for a daytime meetup with kids once school breaks up? I was thinking Blackpill Lido or Brynmill park or somewhere on teh beach for a picnic.

Or will I be there all alone (sob)

Yay I will try to come - preferably somewhere walking distance from town (no cars r us!)

Cool, I tend to go to the same few places TBH, I worked in Cardiff and commuted before I had DD's so I am only discovering Swansea now. Although we were at the Lido this morning, which was lovely!

I will try to come. How old are your DCs? Mine are 9, 7 and 4.

I am a bit rubbish about visiting swansea, it always feels like a long haul to us (90 min bus ride!) Train is better so we will try that.....
Kids are 5 and 7

I resolved recently that we need to be more adventurous so this would be a good opportunity

90 min bus ride would put me off too! They are revamping the Quadrant bus station and it's all a bit chaotic in town at the moment.

Tis annoying cos I can get to places like Fforestfach quite quickly (45 mins!) and Llanelli is not to bad

But central Swansea gee

Report
JackBauer · 30/06/2009 21:14

Oh Yurtgirl, ouch! I am actually nearer Fforestfach than town so if you want to meet somewhere outside the M4 then that's doable for me. Mine are 1 and 3!

I am going to be avoiding the centre while they shut down teh Quadrant, have been online trying to work out how to get buses to places but it is just too complicated!

Thats an idea JB - but where is there in north Swansea-ish that people with kids go? I have no idea.

Oooooh hang on - an indoor idea Funsters at Hendy is great if weather is pants

My favourite outing on a fab day is Millenium Coastal Park in llanelli - which isnt swansea at all

Funsters is fine with me, prefer that to PlayZone or World of Hell Play.

as I say, have car, will travel, even to soft play hell

JackBauer · 02/07/2009 20:37

Have to admit I've not been there for a couple of years and it might be better now. They didn't have hair cutting there then, just Little Miss beauty

have fun!

Report
JackBauer · 02/07/2009 20:47

Yes, little Miss Beauty[hm]] indeed. I had to ask the hairdresser 3 times not to add glitter spray to DD's hair. She is 3!
But, dvd player in quiet room with sofa for me and sweet bribes for DD's, what's not to like?
