I think I am about to find out, I have an interview at Stansted next week...do you work full time? I did after baby 1 ( who is now 5!) but not sure I am up for it now. I have worked out that dh is hubby, but there seems to be some kind of MN language going on here...where do us new girls find out about that?!?! Have also looked at 2 more houses in B Stortford this week, but still "the one" is proving elusive.

Language thing is a mystery to me, I think there is a glossary type thing somewhere. Houses nightmare to find in BS we struggled. Always seemed to be some in Thorley but we wanted to live other side. Where are you looking?

Good luck for job

Theres an acronym list up at the top - next to useful stuff.

We spent 18 months trying to find "the" house. When we did, they pulled out at last minute so we rented, and discovered that it wouldn't have been right. And now we have found our perfect house, but it's not in BS

Tips - don't go to little legs in school holidays. Actually little legs is a bit old for your 8monther, but in a couple of years she'll adore it - and the coffee isn't bad. I actually don't have any tips at all on what to do with a baby here - nmine jsut gets dragged around to all my nearly 3 year olds activities.

Ha funny you should mention little legs, ds (aka eagle eyes) spotted it again today and somehow pursuaded me to take him there next week. At least it is not herts hols and the coffee is good If either of you are around tuesday let me know and we can chin wag while he runs himself ragged
We are looking north of town, or north east, but still having the old v new and middle of nowhere v middle of town debate!
Have found the acronym list - it all makes sense now, thanks.

Oh appleblossom I am around Tuesday - but my dd is not- and much as I would love to meet up I am not going to go to little legs without a toddler - and chance of making it wed, thurs or Friday?

Yep, thursday is ok with me, I'll be the one with the small screaming baby as dd has her second jabs wednesday. No, second thoughts, I'll be the one with the big bottle of calpol!
Hi ionesmum, thanks for the warning, though technically I am Essex mum it is only temporary and am trying to rectify the situation !!!!

Hi I'm an older Mum but not first timer and live in Enfield. Yes I know it's quite a distance from Bishops Stortford (grin) but we are possibly looking to move out there. Would appreciate any advice/tips etc on the area please.

Report
appleblossom · 05/06/2005 19:55

Hi Sassi we are just on the move up there too, I don't have many hints tips for the area yet as we are still waiting to exchange contracts, Prufrock is your girl for that though. Have you started to look any where yet?
