When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

What do you think? Suggestions please..

When we last met we said a park would be better.

As in the title all welcome

Hi, peachygirl, are you the same one from slingmeet?
I remembered because I couldn't see anyone else from Croydon.
Do you still go to the meets?

Lots of lovely parks in Croydon and thereabouts. ON hot days, Croydon Road Recreation Ground (next to beckehnham hospital) has lovely paddling pool.
Lloyd park is nice too, and Beddington is lovely.

Also Coombe Wood, lovely park, very nice tearoom and a nappy changing room.

Hello...I'm in Carshalton Beeches and have a DS of 10 weeks. Can I come?

Ooh, what sort of mei tai? I have a bit of a sling habit.

Coombe Wood is also accessible by public transport I should have said.

A baby hawk.I haven't used it lots though but I wish I'd had it on sunday on a day out when DD was a pain in the bum!

Ok, what happened last time wwith the meet up was I eventually set a date and then who ever could make it came along would that be OK?
I'm a teacher so happy to wait for the summer hols if that suits people otherwise it's a Monday or Tuesday.

BabyHawks are gorgeous and so comfy (but I don't think it was me who recommended it -though I would have).

Set a date (and location) by all means and we'll keep our fingers crossed we can make it.

A park meet up sounds lovely, hopefully the weather will turn more reliably summery soon. I'm a sahm, so most days OK for me

oooh - excellent, not only croydon mums but a couple of self-confessed sling addicts . moving to croydon 14th july - but am only in streatham at the moment, so could do a date earlier too. my geography of croydon is non-existant ... all i know is that i am nr coombe lane (?) and not far from lloyd park ... any day works for me.

Fab, people I can ask about slings. Only have a Wilkinet carrier and am keen to try them all!

turtle23 lol @ "only have a wilkinet" ... you sound like me... dh has just forced me to sell one of my slings so now i only have four left . btw, i should've been a march mum. was due feb but dd had dif ideas and joined us on 7th March instead

dc2 is due in Sep, and I want to get a new sling too as last time round I had a baby bjorn, and MN has educated me into thinking there are much better slings out there, you all sound like just the people to chat to

Report
tyaca · 16/06/2008 20:21

oooh, i'm the other way round splish. partly cause of MN, and partly stubborness at not wanting the same sling as everyone else, i resisted getting a babybjorn til v recently. now the only one i use .

Oooh I am not far from Croydon - would love to come if it's relatively easy to get to via public transport (am loser non driver). Have 13 week old DD and various slings, some of which I haven't worked out how to work yet

So where to go? What to do? If anyone wants to come this direction and meet up I'm going to Carshalton ponds for a bit of outside time this week. Good playground and ducks to feed. 15 mins from Croydon.

ah! another non-driver ... tho' i fear motherhood may force another attempt at learning to drive out of me. liking the momentum here - would be good to meet some people before we move.

tyaca- you're only a couple of train stops away. What you up to on Wednesday?

I'm in Caterham which is only a bus ride away from Croydon so I'd love to join you. I don't drive but I think the 407 bus goes to Carshalton Ponds so that would also be fine for me.

Peachygirl & Splishsplosh - Hi again! We met up last year at The Clocktower Cafe in Croydon. Hope you and your children are well. It would be nice to catch up with you again.

Tyaca - My son was born on the 7th of March too!
