HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU

Now that we've more or less survived the festive season how about reviving our meet-ups for 2005?

I'm a bit busy next week and the week after with dr. appointments and school interviews for dd, but then my diary is pretty bleak and empty.

So who would like to do what and when

xmas was nice with dd unwrapping everybodies pressies.

New Year's Eve... ah well on antibiotics for a kidney infection so no big celebrations here

Unicorn - hope your flu gets better. Seems like this year a lot of people were laid up with something or other for the festive season.

maybe we could meet for lunch with the kiddies sometime? Isn't there a place in the green near ealing broadway?

Report
MrsBigD · 05/01/2005 22:47

Tootsies is a bit pricey but they don't mind kids. In fact last week when we went there for lunch it seemed to be kiddies day! At least 1 kid per table!

Hello - I'm an ealing-ite with a 5 yr old and an 8mth old - anyone else in this situation? I organised a coffee/lunch time meet with school parents at Bar Ha Ha on Mattock Lane - used to be Yates. It's good - they have a dedicated area for people with kids, a kids menu (but not crayons or goodie bags etc) - It's nice and you can just have a coffee or order the food which (I think) is lovely - not just burgers and chips!

i have heard good things about carluccios - anyone ever heard of that and where is it? alternatively, i have taken dd to both cafe uno and bella italia with no probs at all, both have goodie bags and staff were friendly.

hello gg! my dd is 22 months

Report
MrsBigD · 06/01/2005 19:34

welcome to the Ealing Thread gg

DD is 3 and loves older kids , ds is 4 months old

Carluccios is nice but yet again a bit pricy. There is one in Ealing now I think in Bond street or around that area.

Bella Italia is good for kids they never seem to mind when dd goes running around

Hi all, + welcome gorgeousg...
I'm up for a Mon/Wed or Friday meet up.. my lttle tearaway needs a runaround though, otherwise I won't be able to sit and eat/drink/talk!

Anyone been to Wacky warehouse? (nearish to you mrsBigD I think)

Report
MrsBigD · 07/01/2005 15:54

Hi unicorn, I think wacky warehouse is only good if kids are NOT escape artists. Can't remember who told me but there seem to be a few gaps they can squeeze through

Report
yingers74 · 07/01/2005 22:21

have been to a wacky warehouse but i don't think they actually serve food do they? The one we went to was in greenford and we had to go to the pub that it is attached to in oder to get lunch. there is the YMCA cafe in st mary's that has a play area outside so assuming it does not rain......

lIFE WITH KIDDIES CERTAINLY IS NOT EASY.

does anyone know what happened to slink? I hope she is ok.

Report
MrsBigD · 08/01/2005 10:37

have not heard from her. hope she's ok.

We could alway grab lunch at e.g bella pasta and then hit walpole park weather allowing

Report
yingers74 · 09/01/2005 21:04

i am being difficult now, any chance we can meet in walpole in the morning and then go to bella italia or cafe uno? we went to bella italia on sat, our second time and some staff already recognise us!

Report
unicorn · 09/01/2005 21:07

sounds good to me Yingers...
Let them have a runaround first, then we may actually get a 'window of opportunity!' in which we grownups can eat/drink and possibly even....... talk!!!!!!

mon/wed or fri for me.

GREAT IDEA!

would have to be before 20th though as that's the first day dd will be 'dumped' at morning nursery

This week Friday would be o.k.
next week Monday and Wednesday

Report
yingers74 · 10/01/2005 13:49

next wednesday? I might be late though! need to help open up a play session near me and then I could meet you outside bella italia or at walpole depending what time you are planning to stay at walpole?

Report
MrsBigD · 10/01/2005 13:51

so next week
Wednesday 19th January 2005 around 11:00 Walpole Park (assuming it's not raining that is)

sounds good to me...what happens if its pouring down? straight to cafe?

I have to be back home to pick up dd from school at 3, so we won't be having a long leisurely lunch' (ha!! those were the days)

hi new to mumsnet interested in coming to some meet ups wheres walpole road in ealing

Report
MrsBigD · 10/01/2005 18:02

hi joygirl
you're more than welcome
Walpole Park is if you take the road that goes past M&S to the end and to the right is a mansion house... that's Walpole Park

If it's pouring down we'll think of something... I'll wreck my brain tonight
