If so, I would love to hear from you! I am a new mum with an 8 week old boy. I would love to hear from anyone who could tell me whether there are any baby groups in the surrounding areas or if anyone would like to get together for a drink and a chat, that would be nice too!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Kimmy
I'm in Forest Hill but I'm a mum-to-be at the moment (due April) so I will watch this thread with interest! I think there are quite a few SE Londoners about so I hope they can help you out with baby groups and good advice!
Congratulations on your little boy!

I am in Forest Hill too. Think there's a dearth of groups here though guess a lot goes on that I don't really know about! Thought of making my own group. Have 10mnth LO.

Good grief, where were all of you when I lived in Forest Hill???

Have now moved 10 mins away to Catford.

I've just remembered that an ex-colleague of mine lives in Forest Hill and has two small boys. I'm seeing her on 1 December so I shall take a notepad and report back!

Incidentally, does anyone know about NCT classes in the area?
Motherinferior - I think there might be one in Catford so I don't know if you know of them at all?

Hi Kimmy1974 et al

What about Camberwell/ Denmark Hill? - Any SE London Mnetters from this neck of the woods. Kimmy feel free to email me if you are interested in any of the groups (not many) that I go to in my area. I'm new to Mumsnet too (such a shame - wish I'd known about Mnet much sooner). I'm 9 months into a years worth of maternity leave and absolutely loving it (smile)

I will try and be brave too!!! I drive so could be persuaded to travel to a few places in the South East. Gosh, I've never done a meet up before - how nerve racking!!! How do we all know that we're not meeting up with some sicko old perv who's pretending to be a new mum? lol.... sorry, my mind can run away with me sometimes, especially now I have my little man.....

I too have never done a meet up and it is a bit unnerving!
I have a car and can travel too.Just need to think of somewhere child friendly to meet for a coffee.
Could try Horniman museum or dulwich Park cafe.
Any ideas?!

Both venues are close to me so happy to meet at any one. Let's wait until pootlepod returns and then we can try and set up a date and hopefully, more people will join in along the way!

At least we are all nervous and in the same boat - that's quite comforting to know!!! :-)

Hi ladies, I would love to come along but I can't make next Weds as I have to take the little man to the clinic. I can do Thurs though. If that's no good, could I please join you another time?

Also, I met someone from the internet for the first time this week. We've been in touch since we were both six weeks pregnant. It was so nice!!! It's given me great encouragement to meet others!!!

Sorry to sound dim but what does CAT mean?
